Bluetooth transmitter really means it's the central / master device. Bluetooth receiver really means it is a peripheral / slave device. However transmitter / receiver have become the lay person nomenclature. It does not preclude or include mic capability in their intended definitions.
Bluetooth audio is the AD2P bluetooth profile. A sub profile is the headset HSP profile. Both the transmitter and receiver necessarily would support both AD2P and HSP in order to "hear" and "speak" for headset use.
Now I know that doesn't answer your question about this product, but it should clarify why the assumptions you were making wouldn't necessarily be informative.
The real question is whether it supports the headset profile.

Technically Bluetooth is built into the switch. That's how it communicates to the joy cons. They just don't use it for audio. Maybe because it would create latency for the controllers.

Crazy thing is that the switch does have working Bluetooth. It's what's used to connect to the joycons. They just disabled audio for some reason.
It's maybe an 1/8 inch of gap so maybe if you modify it

Also, I know there are some transmitters that will allow you to use voice when playing online games and these would not. I think you could get a 3.5mm mic and be all set for voice as older models came with those.
Is this any different? https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-...08LND59KQ/
