Looks like the prices have gone up since January. I have an email of my cart in January for the SmartDesk 2 Premium at $599 on sale for $449. Now both the original and sale prices are higher

I got the Autonomous SmartDesk 2 XL (70.5" x 30") in November 2020 (around Black Friday) for $386 shipped. I would not recommend this desk if you have carpet. I'm using mine on carpet and every time I type, my monitors bounce around – even at the lowest (sitting) setting! It's so aggravating how unstable it is on carpet. Of course, the problems are exaggerated when it's at standing height.
I reached out to Autonomous for help with it and they didn't offer any suggestions and said it was too late for a refund (because I had bought it and not assembled it for a month since I was moving).

I have the narrower model and no issues on carpet. The desk and monitors are stable when sitting and standing. Your carpet/padding may be thicker, causing stability issues, or it could be your monitor arms/stands.
The desk has been great and so has their customer service (top was damaged in transit and quickly replaced).
I use this $200 motorized standing desk, and I'm quite happy with it. It's an unknown Chinese desk, but it still has a number of handy features (memory function for height, a hook at the end for a backpack, a swing-out storage tray).
I do have concerns about the "longevity" of the desk given the unknown brand, but so far it's been great. And it seems solidly built.
I also use this $269 standing desk in my home office, from another unknown Chinese brand. It also has worked well, though I think it's not quite as nice as that first one. I bought it because I needed a slightly smaller desk to fit in my space though, and this was the cheapest one I could find which fit my requirements.
FWIW, I've owned both of these for 3-4 months now with no issues. Though I've used the first one ("PUTORSEN" brand) much more lightly than the second one, since I'm working mostly from home.
