The UPS Batteries are stated as average life span is 3-6 years in the manual.
Batteries are covered for the full 3-year warranty period.
As they are user-replaceable for this model, CyberPower will ship you replacement batteries without you needing to ship the UPS unit to them.
I just verified this information with CyberPower's Technical support. I even called back a 2nd time and verified it with a different agent.

I have had a successful warranty claim for UPS batteries failing in the past.
I read the warranty terms and there is no exclusion as a normal use/wear/consumable item for batteries in the User Manual pdf within the "What is not covered?" section.
Another note: The "What is covered?" section also states that the connected equipment is covered as well as defects of the UPS unit, depending on the determination of CyberPower, as there are situations they can void the coverage for. Read the attached manual if this interests you. Lots of details, and hoops, only for market value- if approved, so I would not be expecting or basing my purchase on this coverage. I would try, if appropriate, but not hold my breath.
All of the like items from CyberPower are shown to include battery coverage right in their product description on the product pages on Amazon. Also, I see reviews mentioning warranty replacement for defective batteries.
Should anyone who is not already convinced of the facts I have stated and linked to, please contact CyberPower to get confirmation of batteries being covered, and that they can ship them to you without returning the whole unit if they are not holding a proper charge within the warranty of 3-years. Press option 1 for Tech support @ 1+ (877) 297 6937. They state they will assist you in how to diagnose on your own and report the data to get it approved on the phone if it is only a battery problem.

This falls under the purvey of Costco's Satisfaction Guarantee. There is not a 90-day limit for returns. The 3-year warranty might be extended up to 2 additional years when purchased using your Costco Citicard as well. I am not certain if it maxes out at 4 years, or if it would get you all the way to 5 years. I am only going to check into this if I purchase one using my card and need to deal with a breakdown after the mfg warranty lapses. Currently, I do not need one and am only here to share the sale price.
I've reported the false battery-exclusion claims to CyberPower for them to consider having SD remove the comments. That is all I can do to try to return sanity in this thread.

i have four of the 1350VA versions. one on the PC i'm typing this on, one on my home theater + ubiquiti wifi + arlo camera, one on my fish tank (two fluval 70s and a 306 canister filter) and another in my game room with everything from a PS4 pro to an original NES.
i've had them for a few years and they still work just fine. if yours only last a year or two you have other problems.
to the other guy asking about service, yes, it is like two screws and you're in.
and to the other guy asking about a generator... it's not the same thing at all. your power goes out and you go into the garage and hope you didn't forget to fill the gas in your generator. if you did forget hop into the car and go get some. if you didn't you still have to run an extension cord into the house and plug in whatever.
these little UPSs flip on in like 4 milliseconds. if you have them hooked up to a PC the cyberpower software will detect a power outage and shut your PC down safely so you dont lose data or fry a drive.

1) When the power goes out and it uses the battery to power a WIFI (or anything)... and when the power goes back on, does the device allow the HOUSE power to go flow to the WIFI?
(Some UPCs you need to turn off, then on after a power outage - to make the HOUSE power be used again. And I dont want that. I want auto use HOUSE power when it turns back on. Ty)

Did Cyberpower change the model number? If so, I bet they are selling through older ones first. If not, it could be they didn't upload the later model pictures in the flyer or online yet. Sometimes that happens. Does Costco carry a newer model in the warehouses? Do you have the SKU?
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if I needed it.
That said, all my other Cyberpower units have been solid, though they do have one limitation - they won't necessarily warn you that the battery is done for.
I run two UPS, one 1500VA/900W (now a new PFCLCD model) for the main PC's and one 1350VA/810W PFCLCD for the support infrastructure - router, switches, and file servers. A brief brownout hit, not "dark" enough to trigger any warning beeps from my two UPS, and not long enough for any of my lights to register anything. My PC running on the new 1500 unit didn't notice anything. The only clue that something was amiss was a weird "chirp" from the vicinity of the fileserver, and then all my fileshares dropped out. I saw that the QNAP had shut off, but not until the GF said that some of the kitchen clocks had started flashing 12:00 did I realize it was a power fart.
Testing revealed that the older unit's batteries had silently gone byebye at around 4 years old. No warning or anything.
So I'd pre-emptively swap out your batteries if I were you, especially if it's backing up mission-critical things like machines for your work. Once that's done, keep track of the age of your cells, maybe by putting a sticker on the unit with the batteries' "incept date", and test them under load every few months. I figure they only warranty new batteries and units for 18 months for a reason.
Honestly the older model should be more in the ~$100 range at max of $130 like previous past deals.
If you want to go APC, I would wait to see if they resolved the apparent design flaw in the MS models with newer *MS2 units.
I wish someone would do a tear down comparing both. This would be a great tear down and comparison video for Dave Jones (EEVblog).
