This is the same drive thats in the Seagate Expansion Desktop 16TB External. Seagate only has one 16tb drive in their lineup. You're 100% guaranteed to get an Exos, helium-filled drive. That external drive is currently $308.99 on Amazon. It was on-sale last week for $294.99 per CCC.

This has been 324+ on Amazon for weeks and the price is continuing downtrend. Just be careful when selecting the seller but most of them will get you the original 5yr Seagate warranty.

So this drive gets you 5 year warranty. Shucking a drive may make that drive ineligible for a warranty, but even unshucked they only have a 2 year warranty. So are people just shucking drives and gambling on not needing the warranty in exchange for the savings?
