If you are actually using them to prune, yea. Rougher but way faster cut. I love using my sawzall for pruning because the blades aren't immediately wrecked if they come in contact with dirt, unlike a chainsaw.

Are these worth buying over their wood blade counterparts?

Same: I use wood blades (8tpi) but it's pretty slow. These should go faster. I use my hackzall for the lighter weight carry up high

I've been using Skil 4-5 tpi pruning blades for several years. They usually run just under $15 for a 5 pack. No complaints but am tempted to buy these to compare.

For pruning blades, try the Diablo blades. Been really happy with them. I think Milwaukee makes great tools and I own a ton of them, but their consumables (blades, bits, etc) aren't necessarily the best.

Yes! I've cut some pretty big stuff with these and the hacksall that I keep in my trunk. Keep in mind that the stroke on hacksall is shorter than a sawsall so you will have to move the blade around more to clear the chips.

+1 for Diablo blades. The small trees around my AC unit were above the roof but a Diablo blade on my Ryobi reciprocating saw made quick work to get them looking good.

I've been using the HF 9 inch 5 tpi. They are about $9 for a 5 pack. Most pruning blades work up to about 3 inch branches.
