Slick price for the Pixel 4a 5G. No port required, no waiting for a GC, and no monthly bill credits. This is a no brainer if u already have XM service! You must have Xfinity Internet service to use Xfinity Mobile.

Here's their policy, you have to be an Xfinity home internet customer in case you didn't know. I'm here because it set off my alert for Pixel and I wanted to check it out.

Policy:

If you need to unlock your phone so that you can switch out your SIM card, it's no problem. There are just a few requirements to be aware of:

The phone must be an Xfinity Mobile device.

The phone must not be reported lost, stolen, or involved with fraudulent activity.

The phone must be paid in full prior to requesting the device unlock. If your device is on a Device Payment Plan, it is ineligible for unlocking.

The phone cannot be active on another Xfinity Mobile customer's account. If the phone previously was active on another Xfinity Mobile customer's account, it must be paid for in full.

You must have completed and paid for at least one full billing cycle of Xfinity Mobile service since purchasing the phone.

A minimum of 60 days must have passed since you activated the phone.

Your Xfinity Mobile account must be in good standing.

The device must have been purchased on the account of the authenticated customer who is requesting the unlock.

Is this a good deal? Seems to be with no bill credits to deal with, etc.

So we would be able to port over a number to this if we wanted to?

Also do you know if you have to have a 5g XM plan? I'm grandfathered in on the old plan. Not sure if I could keep that plan with this phone or not? I thought I read that this isn't any faster than 4G as it's not the UW 5G?

Thanks,

-Guru
I think you should be able keep the existing plan with the 5G phone. My wife upgraded to iphone 12 pro max and is still on 4G plan with no issues at all.

Ok thanks for the info. I'm on wifi most of the time anyway and rarely use data so I might as well save the $3.00 per month, lol. I'm still rocking the LG phone I got for $1.00 from XM going on (4) years ago when they first launched. It hasn't gotten updates in quite sometime so this will be a bit of an upgrade for me.

Thinking I might port over an elderly relatives number too from Cricket and just put her on my acct. She uses no data and is spending $30 per month at Cricket.

Does anyone know how it would work if I ordered this phone and wanted to port over a number from Cricket? I would be adding the number from Cricket to my existing XM account. It looks like when I log into my XM account it will ask me about transferring over a number. If I enter that info online does that process start happening immediately or will I initiate the port once I receive the phone? This would be for an elderly relative and I would have to go to her to switch out the phones, etc?

Just wondering how the XM port process works?

Thanks,

-Guru

So I assume you need to pay for two months service.

This or wait for Pixel 5a, I hate switching phones. Using my 3 XL 128GB which is fine for now, just wish Google would get their $#@! together and release 256/512 versions.
