YMMV: TIP have everything set up in your cart. Sit on it for a few hours. Close the window for another hour or so. Eventually HP will take off another $60. Using id.me I got $55 off as well. 1% CB from your favorite CB site. It helps.

I got this one for a little under $1600:

I know it's more expensive, but it is 100% a Max P 3070 with 16 GB of 3200 RAM, and a 5800H... and it's not HP. Don't have many good experiences with HP.

Low power 95w and less GPU are for portable gaming. If you plan to game while plugged in, you should wait and buy a higher power GPU. It's well worth it.

It does seem like powerful laptops in general have coil whine.

I don't think it'll be much of an issue to return the laptop if there is a defect. Though there does appear to be restocking fees if the laptop is not defective. I don't like it but the Omens from the last gen have good reviews. At this price, this is a solid buy. I haven't seen a better value.

I have been using a HP laptop for over 3 years now, still works fine, I had a dell before that which broke (literally) within 2 years of light use.

3070 laptops are going for about $2000 -$2500, that being said, HP has been known to undercut prices big time for some reason. It's always this preorder model though where you commit to buy, then they send your order to the factory who builds it. Must be some china labor thing that saves them hundreds of thousands of dollars when they do this I'm not understanding.

I couldn't help but pull the trigger on the 3070 version - this has to be a price mistake or a launch promo. I hope PD works but just isn't documented. If not, I can either return or potentially sell for what I got it for.

It's still rare for gaming laptop to have PD since it tops out at 100W, so I wouldn't bet on it.

Also, HP has a 15% restocking fee.
