I have these and real Knipex Cobras. There's no reason to believe that these weren't made by Knipex, but the fit and finish (and maybe heat treating, who really knows) on the Craftsman aren't quite as nice as the real ones.

If you can get to a Menards and do the rebate thing, the real Cobras are $23.90: https://www.menards.com/main/tool...c-9156.htm

Also, I believe the Craftsmans are old stock from the Sears days and not currently being made.

Here's a pic comparing 6" Cobras, 7-1/4" Craftsman, 10" Craftsman, 12" Cobra (comfort grip):
Bought these at sears almost 8 years ago when I started my apprenticeship as an electrician. Still use them today almost daily. In for one
These are indeed made by Knipex for Craftsman. You can find GarageJournal forum posts about this topic from as far back as 2016. There is some debate if the Craftsman branded ones are slightly different and possible a bit cheaper but you be the judge.

I bought these at the same $25 deal price via another Woot special back in December and have been very happy with them. They are a good price to dip your toes into the Knipex line even though these don't explicitly say Knipex on them. Be careful though, you are going to want more of these high quality tools!

Craftsman by Knipex?
Is this some partnership or what?
I think sears sold the Craftsman line, but didn't know to who

I own the Knipex set. If it has Craftsman on it and it's not over 20 years old, I would not buy it. They've sold out. Maybe they bought the cast, but I would never trust their product again. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
From the reviews
"Bought these thinking they were made in the US. Made in Germany like the knipex and looked excatly the same. Works great up to 1 1/2". 2" is a stretch"

Picked these up here on SD a couple months back. I'm just a heavy DIYer but easily worth the price in terms of functionality and quality. $25. Cmon Smilie

I have the black finish Knipex 10" and looks exactly like it, other than how dark the finish is and ofc the grip design & material. looks legit
