How does AMD compare to Intel on these? I've seen both offered. I'm tempted to just get the yoga 9i. Anyone has suggestions?

I was looking at getting a Surface, but ended up with a 9i. I previously had a Surface Pro 3 that finally died that I loved.

For me, the advantages of the 9i are better specs (I got the 11th gen i7 16gb Ram with 512 GB storage), the ability to flip all the way into a tablet, having a pen stored in the laptop (although it has only about 40 minutes of charge and I'd recommend an external pen for long use), more ports available, and Thunderbolt 4 support.

The only thing I consider a disadvantage of choosing the 9i is having a 16:9 screen vs the 3:2. I really think 3:2 is better for laptops, especially if note taking is one of your goals.

Also, don't get the 4K 9i if you care about battery life. It's nice looking, but at this size 1080p is fine and much easier on the battery.

Thanks for the info. I bought 9i that had screen defect, so returned it. I'm trying to decide between 9i and gram 17. Yes it will be 300$ difference because there are 9i open box available. I'll be using it for business only. Hmmm. 9i was pretty amazing but I might need 17 for productivity

Not a bad deal. 8gb/128gb is too low for me.

Would be an amazing deal if the RAM was upgradeable like SSDs are. 8gb is not a long term laptop for many. Gutted that I can't justify getting this.

Bought the intel i7 aluminum version SL3 about a year and a half ago. Loved the design, keyboard, touchscreen etc. Unfortunately the laptop has been buggy. I can put up with a lot of weird software behavior, but I should really take it back to Costco. There is a bug with the monitor driver. One problem is the brightness will be stuck. The fix is either to disable the surface monitor filter in device manager or restart the pc. Both are temporary solutions. The more annoying screen bug is when chrome and maybe some other applications go full screen, the screen will glitch, appear to change resolutions, then result in a fuzzy unfocused picture. I've also had issues with microphones in various popular video conferencing software regardless of build in mics or Bluetooth headphones.

Wanted to love it. Love parts of it. Hate the bugs enough to say they ruin the experience.
