I have been through several link 10s and a link 20. They're great devices. I could use one more. But they're not terribly reliable.
Anybody hear if this 2nd gen is any better in that regard?
I'm really on the fence here. My friend has one and it sounds great, but the reviews on JBL are iffy and they are currently "out of stock" for new and not on Amazon.
A little scared they know they have a lemon and not sure if the refurbished means "we fixed the battery / charging issue" or "we're trying to unload this nice sounding turd."

I have owned this for about 2 years, bought a refurb back then for a similar price. I have had no problems at all with it, and the sound is quite good.

what problem(s) have you had with the link devices? I have a link10 that is making random screeching/static type of sounds while playing spotify - still under 1 yr warranty so getting ready to send it in...

I've had 3 Link 10s that eventually stop charging/powering on. JBL replaced them twice. I have a paperweight sitting in a cabinet now. I haven't bothered to send it back in.
Got a jbl link 20, 7 months ago, it keeps disconnecting from my Google account. Hard reset doesn't fix the problem.. Terribly annoying!
Lots of issues; wierd poppping, charging issues, connection and so on.
Wondering if JBL understands speakers well, but this addition SMART Voice Assist thing is not well sorted out at their end.

What was the return procedure like? Can you please elaborate as I cant afford to just let it be a paper weight.

This is my concern as well. Sound is good, the reliability & bugs of previous gen not so much.

The return procedure was as easy as it can be. Reach out to JBL support and they sent me a new one. I give them credit for that, but it's almost as if they know they made a dud so they just swap them out for new duds, no questions asked.
It's really sad. I really love these devices, but I also hate them.

Is the next gen fixed?
