The R series is the lowest end Klipsch speakers.

This is the far far far better deal:

To be fair, these are a powered version of the R-41Ms, your link is for passive speakers.
I generally recommend spending extra to get into the Reference Premier series, but you have to at least compare similar products here.

Just returned a set of Klipsch r-15PM's. I had them set up with my turntable and they were way too bright. Gave me ear fatigue almost instantly.

I have a Klipsch setup for my TV which I love, but for music I am all set with these PMs

Gotta agree here.

Plus some of these really tiny cheap can sized class D amps/dac combos are testing pretty well now (such as smsl brand), so you're not saving on space or much money by buying powered (to avoid needing a large receiver) anymore.

In addition Harmon reps will sometimes give you a 20-30% off one time use code which brings the prices much closer, and most cash back sites are running about 6% too

Bc of all that I think it's starting to become fair to compare active w passive at this point...and you can always use the passives in later setups and build upon them unlike most actives

Bought these for 229 early last year Open box from Klipsch. Fed directly from a Fluance RT82, no pre-amp in between. Listening to mostly Metal and Hardcore and it's fantastic. Not bass heavy though for people who might want that.

Biggest issue, volume doesn't stay. Have to crank it every time I power it up. My B setup using some Edifiers is nice in that I only have to start my record player and volume stays consistent.

The Klipsch R-15PM's are still on sale for 250 new at many sites including Walmart, Amazon, Crutchfield, Etc. I think those are a better buy. Older model but one tier higher up the product line-up.

These klipsch are powered, with bluetooth, sub out, phono input, optical audio etc.

R-41M are the regular monitors, the PM are powered.

those are the previous generation of th same "reference" line and the tier up would be the RP line. Though the one in this post has a 4in woofer and the one you mentioned has a 5in. The newer version of the model you mentioned would be R-51PM.

I felt the same way about the RP600. At first I liked them. They were "exciting" I guess you could say. But fatiguing. Harsh highs. Definitely not a balanced speaker. And the midrange was suppressed and muddy. I don't get all the hype.

Wow. Uhhmmm ok lol. I guess "older model" and the very generic word "tier" must have been very confusing to you.

Highly recommend a set of powered Edifiers over these. The Klipsch are way too bright, with recessed mids and super weak low end. The Edifiers are better from top to bottom and start quite a bit cheaper too. I own both the Edifier r1280ts and r1700bts, both of which have a sub out. I paid $80 shipped for the 1280 set and $130 shipped for the 1700 set, refurbs direct from Edifier. And yes I owned the Klipsch r15pm for a bit and compared directly to the Edifiers. The Edifiers' sound is much warmer, less fatiguing & musical, with more balanced sound than the Klipsch. Ironically I'm currently using a Klipsch sub with each set of Edifiers lol.

Bluetooth 4.0 has excellent sound reproduction.

I have a full klipsch 7.1.2 setup (except the sub) and I've never found them bright. Just another anecdote.
