The string trimmer looks like it is XR and brushless which is good, but is this the trimmer with the poor head design that everyone complains about?

I think the one to avoid was DSCT920?

I have the DCST922 and like it. Works great for my suburban yard. I can cover the front and back lawn on about half a 5Ah battery.

This seems like a good price for the bare tool.

I got the 925 last summer for $50 and I'm surprised I haven't broken it yet in a fit of rage because the trimmer head was such a pain in the ass to string

Easy load is well worth it on the newer trimmers

Does that mean that one would need to replace the head on this trimmer or get a newer (more expensive) model? I'm guessing this model doesn't have this capability to easily load the string.

This model should be easy load afaik, the 925 and early 920 did not

Just got one last week. It's not as powerful as a corded model I tried, but it'll get the job done. The angled head is actually very nice for ergonomics. Not sure how often I'll use mine, but each time will make it feel worth it considering how easy it makes pruning large branches.

I've had my eye on this. The video reviews show it has it. It's a manual easy load as opposed to some others where you reload by running the trimmer. Still seems convenient over oldschool hand wrapping. May bite on this deal.

So after watching a video on replacing the string on the 922 I confirm that it is easier to replace.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g...gX6U&vl=en

I have the 920 and reloading is not that bad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4wvfI7LY0Q

Earlier I mention that the spool was expensive for the 922 but that was for the Quickload replacement spool head https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL...VcERXkwA0I

String for the 922 is same as other models fairly cheap.

Can you use your own lines? I currently have the hex type and want to keep using them

Thanks, been wanting one of these for a while but wasn't paying $150+ when I don't need an extra battery for it.

This is a pretty good price.
