If you are interested in SoFi but don't want to do direct deposit, I just verified that they they still have the promo for $50 when you use a referral to open a new account and fund it with $500.

There's SoFi Money and SoFi Invest. Each account has its own available sign-up bonuses when using a referral.

I have both... started with SoFi Money and then opened SoFi Invest. Both accounts show up when I log in, and I can transfer money from SoFi Money into SoFi Invest (and vice-versa).

You can sign up for SoFi Invest, though I personally prefer BlockFi or Coinbase for crypto and Webull for trading stocks.

Is transferring the money between accounts instantaneous? So if you moved money from Money into Invest, that amount would be immediately available for trading? I assume the sweep account for the Invest pays nothing so if it was instantaneous, moving your uninvested cash into Money would be the way to go between trades.

Oh yuck, you're right. Last time I looked at my SoFi Invest referral, it was $100 for $1000 deposit IIRC. Now it's $5,000 deposit for $50. That said, SoFi invest is what I use for most of my investing (I signed up back when the referral bonuses didn't require initial deposits).

EToro is also good for crypto... With a referral, it gets you $50 when you invest $100 into any crypto and leave the money in your account for a week.

Yes, funding SoFi Invest from SoFi Money is instant. My last transfer shows up in Invest on 1/12/21 and on the Money side, it shows 1/13/21 and is listed as "Direct Transfer".

I just tried transferring my uninvested cash from SoFi Invest to SoFi money... did it through "Withdrawal" method. This is not instantaneous... says "Your money should be available in 2-3 business days "

Darn, too bad it takes longer going from invest to money. BTW Robinhood sweep pays 0.30 APY but the gamestop episode soured me on them.

I hear you, and good on you for wanting to steer clear of RH. I felt fortunate that I was using SoFi Invest to buy my AMC, CTRM, SNDL, NOK stocks when all that was going down. Was following a lot of the chatter on WSB and remember thinking, "WOW, that's really F-d up of RH!" 🚀🚀

fark you, slickdeals never honored these rebates from last year

it took slickdeals like 2 months to respond to each email, and the boilerplate response was no record found and rebate denied.

Take a look at previous deals and how SD responded. Steer clear from any SD sponsored promotions

I have a portion of my work direct deposit going to a SoFi account. It's almost no work. I just had to go on my jobs employee portal and add the SoFi account to the accounts my check direct deposits to. Took a couple minutes. I don't know where you work but I don't make $100 for even an hour's work.
