15% tariffs. Shortages in components. And of course the same people who would buy this 1000w PSU, the chief cause of PC shortage everywhere instead of blaming it on the pandemic, the miners.

I started doing exactly that but realized the difference between buying a part at the cheapest vs. Buying it on sale at a good price is generally a difference of $10 to $20. In the end you might as well buy a cheap used computer and just upgrade overtime if you want to wait on the lowest price for parts because it will take about a year. If you're just waiting for a good sale price it will usually be about a month.
I am waiting for the 12v only that can get platinum level for cheap. Oem already shipped with those. Hopefully by the time we get graphic card and cpu, it will start to roll out for the diy crowd.
In short, grab it now if you need it, even if it isn't the cheapest ever.
Go with a corsair or an Evga imho
Dude, Seasonic makes almost all of Corsair's Power Supplies.

Seriously. Even if I save $50, is it worth $50 to not use my new PC for a year? It seems kind of pointless.
I'd rather be waiting on the CPU/GPU/etc. to come in stock than get everything I need except the PSU and then have to wait for the PSU to come in stock.
You can always run an underpowered system on an overpowered PSU, but good luck running an overpowered system on an underpowered PSU.
