Passthrough or bust
Why would anyone buy the non-translucent plugs? You can't see and verify the wires. The white and gray ones look opaque to me.
After doing passthrough, I tossed everything and switched to passthrough. Way faster using passthrough jacks.

I have the clear version of these, they are quite easy to use for a noob like me. You untwist the wires and put them into the plastic inserts, trim off the ends from the insert then put them into the plug and crimp. I used Klein VDV226011SEN crimper.

Just bought these the other day for a couple dollars more. They are my goto, I haven't tried anything else since these were very easy to use. I'm sure the pass through work well but I didnt care to try something else if these have been working well for me.

Passthrough or bust
I've had my fair share of problems with pass-through, but I know what the issue is, and I know to make absolutely sure to buy the RIGHT passthrough.

I've been making Ethernet since 96. I actually prefer regular, cheap connectors since they have the little guides to put the wire in place, where pass-through tends to cross over and bunch up down the line.

Still, if anyone wants info on pass-through, I got in a good discussion with the vendor about it.

When I was at NASA I used Black-Box insert connectors. They were awesome. I've never found another insert connector as good as Black-Box, but I've learned to use the rest.

I can buy 100 traditional connectors for the price of about a dozen pass-through, maybe a bigger separation than that. If you just wire up your own stuff occasionally, no big deal, but if you're using 100 a day three days a week, it ads up.
