Thanks! Almost impossible to find batteries with LSA and on sale that are not part of a tool kit.

Moderate increase in power output, using power management circuitry on the tool side and battery management circuitry on the battery side. An Octane tool with a non-Octane battery will have moderately reduced power, and a non-Octane tool won't benefit from an Octane battery.

For light homeowner use you might not notice much of a practical difference. But even for a non-pro, you might sometimes have a more demanding task that will benefit from the improved Octane performance. E.g. if you're building a deck, or repairing a car with a lot of rusted-on bolts.

Pretty good deal. Note it's Octane and is LSA eligible.

EDIT: NOT octane

These don't look like Octane batteries. The tools in the $219 combos are Octane tools, however.

Thanks and REP++

I almost bought some knockoffs on ebay last week ($38 per battery). Glad I waited so I can get LSA and another charger for not much more $$.

What's the difference in the Octane batteries?

I'm guessing it's the battery cells or technology. Like Milwaukee batteries and then the high output.

I stick with the previous 4.0ah model batteries. They're same capacity.

Only the 3Ah, 6Ah, and 9Ah batteries are Octane.

All the rest (1.5Ah, 2Ah, 4Ah, 5Ah) are the older Hyper batteries.
