Woot is owned by Amazon. I am assuming that's where they get their inventory from.

I have the Paperwhite 10 (newest iteration). Is this a step up from that?

I am looking to upgrade my very old kindle to a paper white. I can trade in the old one for $5 and 20% off a new one. I think if I wait for a kindle sale, I can get one for around $70 after all that.

Not really. This has page turn "buttons" on the side (they are touch sensitive with haptic feedback) and the screen I believe has a glass front and . The form factor is a bit different with more metal instead of plastic).

The newest paperwhite has the same resolution screen and lighting. It also has more memory (won't matter for just ebooks) and supports Bluetooth for Audible.

Some people love the voyage form factor, but functionally the newest paperwhite are the same and add Bluetooth.

If you want a new device then that is the best deal.

If you are OK with refurbished and don't need Bluetooth then I'd personally save $20 and get this and keep the existing as a backup or sell it.

I've only owned Nook eink products and recently picked up a Kobo Clara. Can this sideload epubs easily or does this only download content from Bezos?

"Very good" option sold out.

I was busy researching, came back and it was gone. That's ok. Grabbed a "Good" one. Thanks OP!

I bought two paperweights on from woot. Both exceed quality and expectations. I've been very happy with all of my purchases. I missed the Voyage last time around, and I've read incredible reviews about upgrading to the Voyage... sooo... In for one!!! Thanks OP!

Grabbed one.

Several library systems around me (Dallas, Tx area) have online book access that will send "borrowed" books to your Kindle. Some require residency in that city, others only require state residency. Great way to get free content.

So adaptive front light on the voyager, is this the same as back-lit so it can be read at night or is this something else for reading in different lighting conditions?

Yep. Lights under the glass shine onto the screen, which acts as a backlight on eink screens.

I have both and would agree. I would add, the new Paperwhite is also waterproof, is easier to find accessories such as cases and covers, and has better battery life. I do feel the Voyage looks slightly better, but that may just be me justifying buying this from another slickdeal.

If you're using Calibre to manage your epub library it's not too bad as that handles all the conversions, but there's no native epub support (mobi only.)
