Extra HEPA filter for $30, new, and Costco support makes the Costco deal better. I had this model for about 6 months and the wifi stopped working as many said it would. Returned for a new one at Costco. The replacement has been working flawlessly for almost a year. I'd be worried the refurbs are older versions that had WiFi break. Who knows if they really fixed them.
Just an FYI, there is an SD post highlighting that Costco will have this on sale brand new with 2 sets of filters for $99 starting 3/10.
Much better deal for new IMO as it comes with an extra filters which normally go for around $40.

I also bought a refurb from Woot! last time around and it's been working fine so far, though I don't use the Wi-fi, which I hear is problematic regardless of being new or refurb.
i got a reconditioned one from Woot last time and a few months later the WiFi stopped connecting. Still works as an air purifier but sucks that i can't get it to connect again and set it up via the app. Just a fair warning for those that are thinking of buying this. You can get a new one at Costco for $99 when it goes on sale.

The warranty is one year. Why haven't you use it?

I thought it was 90 days for the one at Woot because it's reconditioned. Failed not too long after the warranty expired, but you are right if it's 1yr i will try to contact the manufacturer to see if they'll help me out. Thanks!

I can 100% guarantee you the problem is not the device but the app itself being poor. There are other reviews on the Winix smart app that state the same thing.

Does this take size a filter? Anyone tried the off brand 2 pack on Amazon?

Do you know how to fix it? I have 2 of these right now and one of the connects with no issue while the reconditioned one does not. The one that works is a new one from Costco. Please let me know if you know how to fix it because I've tried almost everything already except maybe getting a new phone. In any case, i've submitted a request to Winix to see if they can help me out. i'll update if they are able to provide a solution.

Ugh. Was just looking at replacing the filters in my 5500. This is cheaper. Air purifiers are becoming like inkjets.

just an FYI, not easy to find cheap filters for this model. I spent $40 on a replacement HEPA filter off amazon a couple of months ago. My C535 model purifier, much easier to find, but an older model.

I had the same problem. Wi-Fi went out and Woot said it was a 90 day warranty. I contacted the manufacturer and they said the warranty was for a year and sent a replacement.

Is it a yearly replacement or every 3/4 months?
