I own one plus the WiFi bridge.

Yes, the battery's can last a year on normal use, I recommend using lithium AA's to speed the lock motor up a bit.

You get a set of 5 physical keys, they are a high security design and cannot be duplicated normally. Also the unit has a microUSB port on the outside as well so you can power it on that way if your batteries die and don't have a key.

Why 'risk' living in a house with windows? Probably because the perceived benefit outweighs the remote risk. Just like I'm guessing your house remains far more likely to be broken into the old fashioned way before anyone hacks your smart lock.

Honestly the best bit of tech I've added to my house over the last few years! Get it, you won't regret.

I also paid $199 so this is a steal

I bought this last week and love it so far. Wifi allows you to lock away from home ? I have mine set on auto lock after a couple of mins.

Why would anyone want this?
Not needing to use your key, for one. I have a dumb keypad lock on my garage. It's great.
Setting up multiple codes for guests / contractors.
And...just because you want one. If you're in the market, why not get new tech?

I've had the WiFi version for 2 weeks and I've pretty much only used the fingerprint unlock. I'd only use the WiFi unlock in an emergency if a friend or family had to get in. I paid $220 for the one with the wifi. This is a great price.

How long battery last ? My schlage smart lock battery last about a month. Kinda annoying we have to keep replacing 4x AA batteries.

WiFi version is more battery consuming! I don't recommend it, Bluetooth is enough' I use finger print for most time
