Every microfiber towel I have ever used is poor at absorbing water.
If you got no better option sure can keep using microfiber or waffle weave towels, but for real drying and water absorbing you need something made for that duty. There is a reason Chamois Towel, shammy towels, or synthetic towels exist, they are all the same thing just the name slightly different. Get one of those and see the real difference, I would not dry or detail my car with anything less. The towels I mentioned are meant for one main role to dry the product nothing else! If you follow proper care directions one will last you many many years. Go do your homework and thank me later, I would post the one I am using, but the Chinese brand I bought a few of long ago they stopped making. I can post some links for those who are interested in suggestions though from Amazon.
I've actually have great experience with this towel, it actually absorbs water instead of just moving it around.

I have a viking waffle weave towel and it does a pretty good job of drying off my car. I paid around $13 for that one so $6.30 is worth a gamble to see if it is a good towel.

These here are the real deal:

Recommended by a fellow SD'er. I've tried several different ones over the years and none have come close to the ones in the link. They aren't big towels but they kick butt.

Any reason to consider the one posted here over a similarly rated generic waffle weave? https://www.amazon.com/Zwipes-879...IQZFM?th=1

I always suggest being warry anytime you see a SD'er recomended a product that is sold by a third party. This one is sold by a seller with only 800 ratings which is below the 1.5k ratings required to be posted on slickdeals.

I've used these for over a year on my cars and they work well. I see no reason to pay more for this 'deal'.

Does the actual product look like the OP pic or like the pic posted years ago (https://slickdeals.net/e/10958035-meguiars-x2000-water-magnet-microfiber-drying-towel-via-amazon-for-6-60)?

I have two of these I use for drying my Fiesta (small car). They work alright, I run the hose without a sprayer to rinse and sheet the water off as much as possible, then use an 80 Volt greenworks blower to blow off what I can. By then one of these will dry the whole car, and wipe down in\side the doors. They need to be a little damp to start really picking up water.
