its advisable to stay for another few days. Apple is going to announce the new MacBook pro model. That will subsequently reduce the price of current gen MacBook pro (be it new or refurbished)

Mac refurb details tend to sell out fairly quickly, so if you need this now(ish), probably worth pulling the trigger (especially if you leased an M1 dev kit and got a coupon).
I agree it might be worth waiting to see what the next gen brings. But fwiw, skimming the long first post in that macrumors link, I didn't see anything that indicated an announcement was imminent.
I returned my base model with education pricing for the refurb 8 gb ram / 512 ssd and very happy I did. Was def worth the 200 extra for the extra core and twice as much storage It arrived today and looks brand new besides the plain box plus it was sealed. If you know what config works best for you then refurbished is always an excellent deal it's basically new
Thanks, OP. I missed out on the last round of Apple refurbs for the M1 Macbook Air with 16GB RAM. They were gone in a day. These will probably also sell out soon.
Regarding the rumors for the upcoming M1X (or whatever it will be called) Macbook Pro 13"/14" & 16" models, they're not expected to be announced later, with a possible ETA of Q3 2021. If you can wait, wait.
Otherwise, this is a good deal for a 16GB model, and it arrives in less than a week, versus waiting multiple weeks by custom ordering one through Apple.
Rumors saying 2H 2021, Tom's Hardware says possibly July. Lot of chatter about a 14-inch and 12-inch getting outed with the 13-incher going the way of the 15-incher. 12-core M1X expected.
This is still a great price, but covid means I have no immediate need. Probably going to wait until the refresh and finally kiss my 5+ year old Thinkpad good-bye.

Nor do their prices drop or plummet when new tech is announced.
