It's good... Full High Definition resolution ... And IPS Display that will give you great viewing angles.
You only need fair vertical angles on a laptop screen you will be right in front of at all times. A VA panel would give a much better picture, a quality one I mean, not like the garbage some laptops come with.

Any thoughts on comparison to this one that is $50 cheaper with 8gb ram and AMD Ryzen 5?

Different specs. These aren't even the same size screens

Bought this last time and returned it the next day. It lacks a FN lock, physical or in BIOS. Instead, it has a trackpad lock.

The action keys are set as default, volume up / down, screen brightness up / down, etc.

To use actual function keys, you gotta press FN first. Just a heads up as this may matter to some people.

You're very picky! $400 is a steal with these specs

Yes, agree. But the bottom end laptops do come with those nasty one hot spot viewing angle. Even that hot spot does have color fall off at top and bottom.

The processors and screen displays are fairly comparable. For basic tasks (office applications, web browsing, etc.), the difference between 8 and 16 gbs of Ram won't be noticeable. It just comes down to preference on size. I personally prefer the larger 15.6 inch screen size and I also like that it has a 10 key. I'm fine with 8gbs of RAM, especially when the price is $50 less. Just my two cents...
