About this store:
The 30-day return period is calculated from invoice date. Exceptions to Dell's standard return policy still apply, and certain products are not eligible for return at any time. See dell.com/returnpolicy.
Not bad, but similar system with 2060 and 500W PS has been coming up for $799 periodically. I'm going to wait for that one again.
Main thing is the one from a few days ago is expired. Whereas this is still available.
This Deal
256GB SSD + 1TB HHD
1x16GB RAM
Gtx 1660 TI
Other Deal
512GB SSD
1x8GB RAM
GTX 1650 Super
Storage
256gb SSD is all that's needed. 256gb is more than enough for your OS & Programs. If you don't store too much then 256gb total is good for most people. Otherwise an additional 256gb (512gb ssd) or a 1tb hdd will work. The benefit of a 1tb hdd is that if you get a corrupt OS or other issues you can reformat pretty quickly.
RAM
16GB ram is the new normal. 32GB is overkill for most. This deal give you 1x16GB stick which means you just have to buy another stick. If you really cared about timing and best performance you would buy 2x16GB (of the same stick). The other deal gives you 1x8GB stick, so you'd have to buy another stick no matter what. Either you would buy 2x16GB or you'd buy 1x8GB now and perhaps end up buying 2x16GB down the line. Money isn't too tight for me right now personally, so I prefer 1x16GB and buying another 1x16GB if I need it down the line. Your situation could be different.
GPU
GTX 1660 TI sells for $500 on ebay. GTX 1060 super goes for $300 on ebay. Most users (light gaming, office, schoolwork) can get by with iGPU. If you sell these locally/online you recoup the money. The GTX 1660 TI is probably easier to sell.
Conclusion
It all depends on your use case scenario. This computer would be $130 before tax. (i5-10400, 16GBram, SSD+HDD, iGPU).
The other deal would be $150 after tax (i5-10400, 8GB Ram, SSD, iGPU).
If you decide to keep the GPU. Then this deal is $630 vs the other at $450. Only difference being 8gb RAM, GPU, and storage (ssd vs hdd). Depending on what you prefer $200 could be worth it since 16gb ram (~$70), 1TB hdd (~$30), price difference between 256 and 512gb ssd (~$20). price difference between GPU if bought seperately (~$200). Keep in mind it may be difficult to find the gpu by itself for MSRP.
The pricing comes out about the same if you go iGPU but you'd come out ahead on RAM. Either way if you keep the GPU or sell it I think most people would benefit more from this deal. Hope this helps, I don't claim to be an expert but hopefully this helps those that don't know where to begin.
Comes with one 16GB stick of RAM so you probably should add another 16GB stick of RAM ASAP in order to run dual channel memory configuration.

I'm considering this for my teenager. He would think the white chassis is cool! Is the 1660ti better than the 1660 super? I was thinking of buying the Costco Legion desktop that has the 1660 Super for around the same price. Any advice?

Yeah, that's the one I got - grass is always greener - like that this one has the extra 1TB drive but if the 2060 is the better video card that's the ultimate priority. And I definitely like the 500W PS - forgot about that.

Costco's Lenovo Legion 5 desktop is better than the Dell XPS if they are both around the same price. Costco's Lenovo Legion 5 desktop comes with dual channel RAM vs single channel RAM with the Dell XPS. Costco's Legion also has 3 chassis fans vs 1 chassis fan with the Dell XPS. Costco's Legion runs quieter than the Dell XPS. Also you are more likely to encounter CPU thermal throttling with the Dell XPS.

Bought that one 3 weeks ago... Feel free to ask me any questions. Will try to answer as much as I can.
Both deals can go perfectly with the Amex Offers 100 off 500 Dell for people who have it.
