I have an older version of this and, at this price, I would not hesitate to buy if I was in the market for another laptop. I have owned several "budget" category laptops over the years. XPS is about as good a build quality as you will get. They do not feel underpowered/obsolete after 1 year of use and are significantly more durable. None of my budget laptops have made it past 2 years of life. Each time something or the other failed and repair was not worth it. I have had this XPS for 4 years, and it is still going strong and not showing any signs of age.

Inspiron is the cheaper line. XPS is the best and super light line. G series is for gamer.

Can someone explain why these are so expensive compared to the G series? The G5 SE I got for $685 seems Way better than this. Do the Inspiron or XPS laptops ever get below $1000 with dedicated graphics?

Mostly comes down to the premium build/screen/sound quality. The touchpad and keyboard feel are supposed to be one of the best as well.

Raw processor/graphics card specs aren't everything.

Not the 13"s, but the 15"/17" are.

You'll need a higher RAM and SSD, brining this towards $800 and something, making it a bad deal, and the ASUS - ROG Zephyrus G14 - Ryzen 7 would be a much better deal at around $800, if you can stomach the extra weight.

i7-10710U, 16GB DDR3 & 512GB SSD version is awfully tempting when combined with the $100 off Amex deal.
I may have to return the $650 Costco Lenovo IdeaPad 5 and pick this up.

Is this the current year model, or old stock?
