Damn, bought this thing at full price a few months ago for a project I was working on. Used it on several projects since. It is a great tool. Helped me learn how to cut crown moulding flat rather than vertically. The presettings are accurate and make crown moulding jobs a breeze. The shadow (rather than laser) target is much better in my opinion because it helps take into account the width of the blade making it much more accurate. I did about 1000+ linear feet of crown on a one 4 amp battery. The difference in power between the 2 amp and 4 amp battery is noticeable. Also used it to cut aluminum trim no problem, as long as you have the right blade. Not having a power cord in tight workspaces is really helpful.
Only thing I'm concerned about is the longevity of the angle markings. They look painted on rather than etched in. It hasn't happened to mine, but a model I checked out in the store showed the angle markings already rubbing off. Not sure if Kobalt makes a replacement plate (I doubt it), but losing that would render the saw pretty useless.
I literally waited a year for this to go on sale and finally broke down and got it for myself full price last Christmas. I put in 2 full rooms of laminate flooring and still had battery left over. It's a steal at this price, especially if you do work of properties without power or you need increased mobility
8 Locations near me says full price $269.
All the Lowe's near me never has clearance items greater than 20% off in stock. I'm going to assume the employees steal all the stock.

Love the kobalt line and have a ton of the 24 volt stuff but the circular saw and rotary eat batteries, heads up. I have the kobalt traditionally powered miter and it's great but would suck to be battery powered.
Thanks. Will go after work. Says in stock in my store. I heard it's better to get 10 in miter saw. Any one cares to comment on that?
I have ridgid version of this saw, prob same internals but they don't stock it anymore. This saw is awesome for small jobs, portability is best feature of this saw. Check to see if cut depth and length will work for what your doing. Otherwise 10in slider is the best.
Great saw. Has more power than my 18 V Ridgid sliding miter, and can cut boards up to a nominal 10" wide. Solid deal at $150. Definitely needs higher capacity battery (4 Ah or 6 Ah).

Regarding your question about replacement parts, I can speak from personal experience that the availability of replacement parts for the Kobalt line of miter saws is VERY limited. I had the 12" Kobalt miter saw (corded) and needed a replacement part (motor end cap) that probably cost $2 to manufacture. Since the part was not available, they offered a refund, which I was impressed with. I would have preferred to get a replacement part rather than buy a new saw (especially when you're able to purchase the first one as a deal, since it can be difficult to replicate), but unfortunately that wasn't an option. For most people, the need for replacement parts will likely not be an issue, but just keep in mind that if you need a part, you will probably need to find a used part on eBay.
I have a bunch of the Kobalt line of 24V tools and have been happy with the power and performance all of them. Even with the lack of replacement parts availability, I still think this is a solid deal for those considering a battery powered miter saw.
5 available near me in North NJ at this price. For anyone who already has Kobalt tools, this is a smoking deal. If you don't own any Kobalt tools, once you add in the cost of a 6.0 battery ($99) and charger ($43) matched with the $100 off buy more promo, you're looking at about $208 before tax.
