Thing looks fantastic, apparently the 2020 Speed Champions cars are 8 studs wide instead of the standard 6. This allows for the driver to sit on the driver's side of the car instead of right in the center, and there is room for passenger too I think at the very least there's a seat for one not sure if the arm width will allow two. The other two I bought are 6 stud wide, and while they look fine, those extra 2 studs seem to allow for so much better scaling in and make it look so much sleeker, as a complete apples to orange, the F40 Speed Champions car looks like absolute ass in comparison, too tall for the width.
I'm not sure if this 8-wide move will be the future of lego vehicles, I kind of doubt they'll make everything 8 wide going forward (although I think they should), but at the very least I hope they stick with this for the Speed Champions line. I'll gladly pay the $5 difference between this and the older style (it does come with somewhere in the order of 25% more piece too so it's not just "it's wider hence more expensive".
That said, if you're one to play a lot with lego sets, then the 8 wide might pose problem, e.g. wouldn't work with new car carrier set released as that supports 6 wide cars. And it may look a bit 'off" compared to other cars, 6 to 8 is a 33% increase in width. Also if you have a full on lego city with plates and everything it may look funny, I don't so I don't care, other than wishing the other two cars I picked up were also this wide. And my kid doesn't mind playing with it either, except that I did tell him "This is daddy's toy, I better not see a Batman logo on the roof"
At $16 absolute solid vehicle bye, it looks fantastic, the little figures still fit in it for a sense of "realism" and the detail is quite amazing, head and shoulders above the "shoe boxes with wheels" I used to build when I was younger.

Totally worth it imo, though it was only played with as a car for about 15 minutes and then turned into a battlebot, as all our sets do...
thanks

Hahahaha. I'm looking at several x-wings that no longer resemble x-wings. And one of my kids keeps ripping apart the figures so who knows where the rest of darth vadar is.
