hope this is with the current firmware.
you can just update the firmware yourself.

I just updated to 1.35 which includes better BSM filtering and auto mute memory.

"Threat detection?"

So like, when I say to you, 'I'm gonna pound you!" It'll beep or something?

Use a MirrorTap
From what I understand, the mirror on a Tesla Y and 3 are low voltage and not switched.

What is the benefit of arrows when speed enforcement officers can have their cars parked facing the opposite direction on the freeway. Also, in some areas, you can't be fined for if speed is being measured if the interceptor is moving as well. Should just slow down if you a Ka alert. I don't think the arrows are really all that necessary unless you are treating the highway as a racetrack or Autobahn

Why not just slow down you get a Ka band, are the directional arrows necessary?
"why not just drive slow all the time without a RD?" The arrows help with situational awareness. That's important when driving, and more so when driving above the speed limit.

If a ka band turns on it's better to just slow down, even with situational awareness, if the radar beeps Ka band, the driver will be looking at the rear view mirror, side mirrors, eyes off the road

Good point regarding slamming the brakes. In this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJwtMKSesvg you will notice when the Ka band is detected, the arrow indicates that the officer is up ahead. However, the driver notices that the cop is on the opposite side of the freeway and was not in any immediate threat of getting a speeding ticket (unless there was another office on the right side of the freeway). I think this will boil down to how fast some drivers like to drive.

no, we all like to drive fast. And we all accept the consequences. Luckily, there are companies that also like people who drive fast and make these products that help.

I guess. Sure. Everyone here knows the R3 has similar range detection for $100-130 less. The people buying the R7 have the extra disposable income for the added features of not having to slam on their brakes whenever it beeps because of the arrows (among other benefits of the r7 over r3, watch youtube)

Same, I started with a Beltronics RX65. Then went with an R3. Later, I purchased an R1 for the second car. If I get a Ka Band, I immediately slow down, no second thoughts
Same thing. I still have my rx65. I don't need gps since I have k turned off so the R1 was good enough but I would like the arrows now.

you walk into best buy and buy one, then return it but keep the original purchase receipt so it looks like you bought it new if/when warranty requires it

Great price on arguably the best detector currently available. Especially now that Auto Lockouts are possible with the latest firmware upgrade.

Arrows or not, I've seen state patrol parked on the center dirt island, pointing one way and make U turns.

Police cars have reverse gears and can just drive over dirt to catch people.
