Looks like this requires a credit pull.
It's the body of an iPhone 8 with the processor of an 11. Using older parts makes it cheaper to manufacture. Great phone for price
The first upgrade showed up on my account. No bill credits, financed amount of $149. Says I can pay off in a couple weeks online.

No, you most certainly did not..
You MAY have a gotten an iPhone SE that you get bill credits as long as you stay with Xfinity mobile, but that is NOT the same as getting an Iphone SE for free...
Hehe exactly right! 😂

Can you see the price/terms if you are not an ATT or Verizon customer? Tried doing it but site is making me log in etc.

I am able to do this same upgrade price and terms on AT&T's site ($5/mo for 30 months). I was able to get the upgrade fee waived in chat. Already have a family unlimited plan, so YMMV. I don't have to trade anything in, and the phone is supposedly going to be sitting at the local franchise AT&T store tomorrow. I am purchasing another one and seeing if I can get the upgrade fee waived on it as well.

Am I missing anything on going with AT&T vs Walmart? I plan on staying on our AT&T plan for the life of the payments.
So this is from Att loyalty dept? If so it requires a contract typically two yrs.

No this was an upgrade option available on the website. The only reason I had to involve support was to get the $30 upgrade fee waived. As I said, I don't care about the commitment, I'm in a rural area and AT&T is the only real option.

I can't believe the idiocy in the 7 pages of this thread. Maybe if we could cut out the people asking the same question over and over and over....and over about whether they can pay it off early we could get it down to about two pages?

Just a soft one, won't impact credit score.

People on this thread crack me up. Walmart has iPhone SE for $149 on postpaid and prepaid. Plenty of options. All require activation. If you already have a postpaid account this is a no brainer. Upgrade, pay it off early. If you don't have postpaid then go with the AT&T Prepaid option. It's locked to AT&T but works with all AT&T MVNO or use for 6mo. Unlock it and use as desired.
You sound really knowledgeable about these deals, so Maybe you know the answer of my specific question. Will you help? I bought the $149 prepaid and used it for one month ($65?) on unlimited plan, then I took out the sim, and used the phone with another ATT prepaid sim. My trouble is that I had ported out the original number to another phone with a different carrier, so I can no longer check the unlocking status online because it's invalid. Does 6 month unlock still apply in my case? The iphone se has been in service, except for the one day of swapping sims. Thanks.

Can I do this?

$149 for the phone paid in full + $30 prepaid (lowest ATT monthly) = $ 180 or $190, then I insert my Red Pocket sim for future use.

Does it work? or some extra fees that I fail to include? Thanks!

Cricket is a better deal. $49 for phone with no activation fees and sales tax (based on your state) on only $49. 6 months of service for $180 net. Unlock the phone on day 180. Total cost is $230 which includes 6 months of service. So unless you are just looking for a phone, cricket is a better deal.
