Went in store to apply, promotion showed up but for some reason it would not let me apply. Branch CSR said it was weird that I did not have the promotion attached to my account for in branch applying but it shows up fine for online apply though but the $95 fee isnt waived. I will wait a bit and see if I can do it in store again if not i will apply online.

My experience today in Northern California for the Chase sapphire preferred card

1) Walked into my local Chase branch
2) Ask to make appointment
3) I was told I didn't need appointment come on back to the office right now
4) I only had my driver's license I thought I needed two IDs but the gentleman told me all I needed was a driver's and a additional credit card.
5) I asked if the $95 a year fee was waived in the first year, I was told YES
6) Checked about the 80,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months, YES
7) Checked about the $50 in statement credits towards grocery store purchases, YES
8) I applied and was approved
9) I was told it would take from 7 to 10 days to to get the new cards, I asked to have that expedited and that was approved I will have the new cards in 1 - 2 days.
10)The whole process took me 20 minutes.

Thank you OP

What is the benefit of a chase checking/saving account ?
Have this checking & saving account for past 4 years. I am thinking to close this account.
There is no benefit.

So I guess since I have had the Sapphire Reserve in the past (closed it 2 years ago), I am not eligible to get the in branch offer. That card does not show up in their system in my profile. My banker called and confirmed this. However, I am able to apply online but I will not get my annual fee waived.
I had the same exact experience in-branch today. The banker showed me his screen that listed the card options I could apply for (Freedom, Slate and Freedom Student or something). He said he'd never seen that before. He created a case about it and escalated it up the chain while I waited. Eventually he spoke to someone higher up who said that they'd had multiple calls about this issue today, but didn't have any resolution yet other than applying online or coming back to the branch another day.

Like you, I had a CSR prior, but downgraded it to a Freedom card 4 years ago.

Going to wait a few days and try again in branch.

My travel needs better work with this United Business Card. It says;

This bonus offer is available to you if you do not have this card and have not received a new Cardmember bonus for this card in the past 24 months.

I checked my United account the bonus was deposited 25 months ago. However card was closed after 1 year of account opening, which is not 24 month yet.

Am I eligible to apply this United Business Card?

TIA

Applied in branch today and was approved. I can confirm that $95 Membership fees waived for the first year and 80000 bonus points offer after spending $4000 within 90 days of card opening. I already have 4 chase credits cards. Banker has to call credit consideration line in order to move some credit to this card from another chase credit card. Yes, you need at-least 2 different verification IDs to apply in branch.

If I cancel my card after I receive my bonus, will I get a partial/prorated refund on the annual fee?

I currently have the Sapphire Reserve (bonus receved more than 4 yrs ago) and am planning to downgrade the Reserve to a Freedom and then apply for for the Sapphire Preferred.

If for some reason I end up not getting approved for the Preferred, will Chase allow me to upgrade the Freedom back to Sapphire Reserve?

You should check exactly when you received your SUB from the CSR, if it really has been over 4 years, you should be eligible. A few years ago chase changed the time limit you needed to wait from 24 months to 48 months from your last Sapphire-family card SUB.

Yes, you are fine.

1. 'do not have this card' simply means that you currently don't have that card open. The 'have not... 24 months' only refers to having received a signup bonus for this exact card in the past 24 months.

2. Chase refreshed the United Business cards less than 2 years ago, with the current card being treated as a different product/card than the previous business card. So you haven't ever had that card in the first place.

Just got my card yesterday on the 60k offer
I called to get bumped up but no dice
They have done this in the past with no questions asked.
This time they told me I would have to get the special invitation by mail or email to get upgraded
May try the account secure messaging but have little hope

So I send a secure message
Shot down again
Even though I was less than a week away from the 80k they will still only do the 60k I applied under
Sucks as they used to bump you all the time but 60 is better than nothing
If anybody gets bumped please share how but I was told the only why for me to go from 60 to 80 was the get the offer addressed specifically for me by mail or email

So the only thing that was lost out, is that if someone had to refer you, they lost the referral 15,000 points, correct?
