Made an appointment online and went to the branch today in Bayarea. Banker called their customer support to confirm that the first year fee can be waived. I could hear the online agent asking the banker if the customer is physically present at the branch and confirmed that first year fee is waived. On the screen was able to see 80K points + first year fee waiver + $50 grocery credit in the first year. Could see the card immediately in my account. Was told that it takes a week for the card to arrive.

I've never made an online appointment before. Can it be done via chase app?

770 credit score. Only maybe 1-2 cards in the last 24months.

Has Sapphire 5 years ago. No instant approval for me, strange.

Same situation. Tried to add to both Samsung pay and apple pat but this card not available to add to mobile payment . 5 months ago I was able to add this card to my wife's Spay account.

There are a few of us in the same boat. Not 100% sure but it looks like all of us had a Sapphire Reserve as of early 2017. I received my bonus on that card 3/12/2017 (statement close date) and downgraded it to a Freedom in March of 2018, with no Sapphire cards held since then. I should definitely be eligible for the CSP, but neither it nor the CSR were listed as available options to apply for on the banker's screen.

Others who have been in the same boat just applied online (and were approved just fine) but they will have to pay the AF. For me, since I think this offer will last at least a month (no info, just a guess) I decided I will try in branch again in a couple of weeks. Since this appears to be a glitch on Chase's end, maybe they will fix it.

Similar issue here. I can apply online but unable to apply in the branch. I have been to 3 branches and it doesn't allow them to select the card. I was a previous CSR member and downgraded to the flex several months ago

If I use this card to pay utility or insurance bills, is it consider a purchase ?

Got a $500 bonus from Capital 1 when I used a new card to pay my car insurance premium in full. Easy $3000 spend. Gonna do the same thing this time, about $3400 car insurance premium, then just pay some bills and get past the 4000.

I think I'm more alarmed that your car insurance premium is $3400. Are you insuring a household of teenagers on a fleet of exotic cars?! 😳

Took care of an autistic dude for years.. His families car insurance premiums every six months I think was like two grand. Four cars, full coverage. Dad was a lawyer. Dude had a ten million dollar life insurance policy and that was over $1200 a month for the wife and him

As indicated, I was unable to apply in branch. Applied and approved online. Tried to contact customer service to see if they would waive fee based upon my unsuccessful trip to the branch. According to CSR and upper management contacted by CSR, Chase does not waive annual fees if you apply in the branch. Amazing, but I didn't have anything in writing to point to argue with.

I had the same situation. Then I called to find out more and they told me I had another credit card with them that had a pretty high credit limit, and since it wasn't being used they wanted to lower that limit and move some over to the sapphire. I said ok and it was approved over the phone

I've ask this like 2 times in this thread already but nobody was able to answer my question. So let's do this. If you can give me the correct answer I'll rep you. My question was..

Can I convert 80,000 point to statement credit or check? How much does it worth? I'm not interested in traveling.

Thanks in advance.

$1000.00 if you use pay yourself back (1.25 cents/ $ each to offset purchases made at grocery stores, home improvement stores and dining establishments, including take-out and delivery services)
