FYI. I downgraded my Sapphire Reserve on Wednesday and lower credit limits across my other Chase cards. This morning I applied for the Sapphire Preferred and was approved. I also see the bonus counter so I'm eligible for that as well.

Anyone know if I'll have any issues upgrading to a Reserve once I get my 80,000 point bonus or do I have to wait a year?

Super pissed off with my timing. Applied on 20th March. The card hasn't arrived yet. Reading the comments I realize that I cannot call the customer service and ask for additional 20k points.

From my reading, you can upgrade as long as you're in the 5/24 criteria. But you won't get CSR signup bonus. I am sure you knew that.

Does the 5/24 apply? I thought that was only for new accounts.

I'm fine without the bonus, I'm about to be sitting on 300,000 points and would love to use the CSR to redeem them at 1.5x vs the 1.25x of the CSP.

CARD Act prevents banks from increasing your annual fee during the 1st year for any reason so you can't upgrade a new card until its 1yr old

You might be able to upgrade an existing Freedom/Slate card that's 1yr old to CSR if it has $10k limit -- you can move limit from other personal cards

Not sure if they'll let you have both CSP & CSR at the same time even if you're upgrading -- it was fine in the past but not sure if things have changed recently

I have never once been asked to verify income, just dont put something stupid in there that could be a red flag.

No, you have to wait 48 months ( 4 years) to be eligible for another Sapphire Sign Up bonus.

Any other good cards to pair with this one for a single credit pull?

Chase Sapphire Reserve. It's possible to be approved for both on the next* day.

Isn't reserve considered a business' card?

No. It's a personal card.
