I know about the 48 month rule but is there a rule about not having another sapphire product for X months? Should I wait before applying for this promotion?

I just cancelled my CSR last week for purpose of avoiding the annual fee and getting a new signup bonus.

Different card issuers may use different credit bureaus, so Discover using Experian doesn't necessarily mean that Chase also uses Experian.

Apparently, it depends on which state you live: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/kn...hase-pull/

I currently have the regular Sapphire card. It will prevent me from signing up for this card to get the bonus. Do you think I should cancel it (then wait 30 days) or downgrade it to the Freedom Unlimited (then wait 5 days) and apply for this CSP? If I cancel the card, I would have to wait 30 days and by then, this deal might be over? But if I downgrade to Freedom Unlimited, I will loose the $200 bonus for signing up for the Freedom Unlimited. I can get a total of $1000 if I sign up for both, the CSP and the Freedom Unlimited.

Are these the timelines?

4 years between bonuses
30 days between actually card accounts if you cancel
5 days if you downgrade to another card

If you cancelled it you have to wait for 30 days. If you downgraded to another card then you only have to wait 4-5 days

No, Discover sent me a notification within an hour of applying for the CSP card that Experian had been pinged.

According to some helpful SDers in this thread, yes. Perhaps others can confirm this timeline too?

When applying in person, do they verify job/income info? What about if you are on unemployment?

they only asked me my annual salary, but I have another card with them... so they probably pulled info from that account

Normally they dont. There were few cases last time asking for supporting documentation

I've had a chase sapphire preferred card for 3 or 4 years now. If I wanted to get one of these points bonus thingies what's my best option? Downgrade to another chase card and then after 5 days reapply for the preferred? Never done something like that before. To downgrade do I just call them? Thanks.

You can not be holding a sapphire card (regular, preferred, reserve) in order to apply for a sapphire card.

And you must not have received a bonus on any sapphire card within 48 months in order to qualify for the bonus.

I went in branch (April 9th) to apply. Banker said offer was not showing as available in my account. Banker looked up when I last received reward and it was April 2nd, 2017 and said that its more than 48 months but system takes some time to update and to check back in a week. I currently don't have any other sapphire cards. Anyone able to apply right past the 48 month mark?
