Are you sure uncle sam accepts Credit card? Hmm i owe freaking 5k, would be nice. Is there some extra fees or something? Tia
Buy $1000 gift cards from Simon, then pay your taxes with them through one of the approved portals. Each gift card costs like $4 and to process a debit transaction though their providers is around $2.50. Not very expensive at all. I have done it several times.

Not sure if you got other replies but just saw your comment. I got approved on the 6th and received my card on the 13th, so you'll lose roughly one week. Hope it works out for you!

Not until May or June, whichever of those months in 2017 you got the bonus. If you don't have access to your old statements, maybe ask Chase.

So $10 fee + $16 gift card fee for $4000? What is Simon?

You also earn reward points on that spend so it basically offsets the cost of the transaction. Simon is a very large mall operator. May not have one in your area. The only reason I say Simon is because they do sell $1000 gift cards. You could do all of this with $500 gift cards purchased from other retailers, but your transaction costs go up. Research the payment processors for the IRS as they may have a limit to the number of transactions per period. I have also done $2000 and never really looked into the limits. I also screen shot every transaction confirmation detail just in case!

Correct. Just ask for the gift cards, my mall makes me fill out paperwork when buying the large balance gift cards. Never had an issue though. I would make sure the credit card has some other purchases on it before you go an ring it up for $4000....

Thanks. Any work-arounds to cash out these gift cards? I know earlier one could buy MOs at Walmart, is that still the case? Any other tips? I have already paid my taxes, so that's not an option Frown

That is possible, not sure of the current status of that avenue. I am not big into this stuff, just try to meet minimum spend requirements quickly using different methods of paying my expenses.
