I just got my card with 60k promotion. Can I cancel my credit card and reapply with this promo?
Unfortunately, no, however, you could call Chase and see whether they will match this offer.

I see that I can schedule a branch "by phone" meeting to apply for a credit card. I'm curious if anyone has tried that option, and if the annual fee is still waived.

This...i m tryina figure this out as well. How did it go for ya bud?

So based on few reads here, rather than going to branch and waive 95 fee...we can use 15k referral and net 55$ more. True?

As per my knowledge, card can be applied only either in branch or online.
There is no over the phone application option..
So most probably you will be asked to visit branch (and annual fee will be waived).. else apply online with 95$ annual fee.

Made an appointment for tomorrow, so we'll see. I figure if they don't waive the annual fee over the phone, I'll just make another appointment to go to a branch.

Are you not planning to take 15k referral offer? Sounds like that $55 more net...i am giving that a try rather than going to branch. Thanks for your input 👌

If I understand correctly, the idea there is that someone who currently has the card can send you a referral and they'll get 15k points, not you. The person who refers you may offer to pay your $95 annual fee (essentially "waiving" it for you), but they still come out ahead because of their 15k points.

We heavily use Hyatt with points. When you pay with points, you avoid the BS resort fees and all the local taxes.

use chase points to pay for certain transactions based on category like dining and groceries. you have to wait until the transaction posts, then you apply the credit to each transaction

you get a 25% bonus with the preferred card and 50% bonus with the reserve card

Tried it today. They said I can't apply over the phone. Have to go to a branch which is unfortunately a 2 hour drive for me 😕
