I made the mistake of buying a cheap brand like this one. The temp reading was significantly off when compared to my other thermometers. If an accurate (or ballpark) reading is desired I recommend spending the few extra dollars and getting a brand like thermoworks. I use it for my electric smoker/food. Otherwise this is a waste of money, drawer space, and inevitable food.

I've had this one for a while now. Works good enough for a probe thermometer. I use mine to monitor grate temp and get the meat close. I use an instant read to take final temp.
