It will cover it easily, you'll have 5ghz at full bars throughout, unless there's some super thick walls.

That said, I am returning this router. Had it for about a month and it started emitting a sizzling buzz. Some google search shows this has happened with some other netgear routers. I sat about 5 feet away from mine and the sound was faint but just enough to annoy the crap out of me. Did not seem to impact performance but likely not a good sign for the future of it.

It is costco though, so easy returns and its a great price. If i hadn't already ordered a different router I'd likely give it one more shot.

I know this is overkill for my living situation, I'm in a 2 story 950sqft place, but at this price I think I'm going to pick this up. For just $50 more than others I've been looking at, I get a vastly better router.

I've had costco employees tell me that on some things, that is the only way for them to price adjust. I was trying to get a discount on a tower fan that I bought 2 weeks before they went on sale with manufacturer savings. The employee told me since it was manufacturer savings they couldn't discount a prior purchase? So I said I would reply and rebuy and she totally was on board with that. I just left, I wasn't going to drive homeand bring a $30 fan back for 5 or 10 bucks.(please don't kick me out of slickdeals.)laugh out loudlaugh out loud

I had and returned this router. I had it mounted on a wall and the way the antennas fit to the router, having it hanging on the wall, they want to keep falling forward since there is no way to lock them in place and it just looks silly. Also, this thing was no better than the Netgear X10 that it was replacing and had less coverage. Ended up going with the Orbi AX system and am completely happy with that.

I replaced my rbk50 with the 850 and got +100-150 mb/s improvement everywhere with no change on the device side.

I'll replace with the 6e version when prices are reasonable lol so at least 2-3 yrs

Is this much of an upgrade over the Nighthawk x10? I don't believe mine supports wifi 6 buts that's not a big deal to me atm.

Had to return mine after a week. My smart devices such as Amazon Show and Eufy Cameras would lose disconnection after couple of days. My other devices such as pc and smartphones still worked fine on both 2ghz/5ghz. Strange, nothing worked even after resets and toggling Smart Connect.

The RBK850 series are awesome. I paid full price and don't regret it at all. It's probably the only router I've had that doesn't require constant monitoring and speeds are consistent throughout my entire house. I started with a range extender first which was horrible and lasted about a week before I ended up with the RBK852..
