I like these compared to the pros and plus, its nice not having any inner ear pressure once youve got the hang of how they go in your ear. Battery not as good as plus though. At low volume you can hear around you but not fully. ANC is non existent it will only quiet low hums that you didnt notice were there until there gone. Hope that makes sense. I can wear these the longest out of all three for sure though

Thanks OP. Didn't buy two sets when the Buds+ had the really good deal.

Those mentioning range, maybe you have defective units. The Buds+ I got for my wife have excellent range. She'll leave her phone in the kitchen and walk about the house without reception loss. She'll even go into the basement and upstairs. It's an 1,100 sq ft house built in the 50's.

Just want to chime in as well. I have never had those problems with the pluses I have. They seem to have decent range. Used with my note 9, tab s6, and now s7+.

This is by the far the most disappointing headphone I ever bought and I own AirPod Pro, original Buds and other Sony/Philips headphones. I bought it in Black for $65 (tax included) on the previous deal. Got it on Tuesday and after two days testing, returned it today.

It is certainly smaller than Buds but I don't find it is particularly more comfortable compared to Buds except the fact there are not ear tips for Live. You will certainly be aware of the fact there is nothing on your ear canals. I find the audio quality is borderline average and actually worse than Buds and terrible compared to AirPod Pro. The soundstage seems to be rather "background-ish" meaning the audio sounds farther away. I guess it is the effect of not having ear tips. The ANC is pretty much non-existent compared to AP Pro. The thing that is a deal beaker for me is the Bluetooth range and its connection quality. My original Buds has the same issue whenever I go to the kitchen which is like 10 to 15 feet away, the audio is breaking up badly. The Live is only a bit better on that regard and still not having a good connection it seems. I tested with AP Pro and a 5-years-old Philips headset (which I intended to trade-in funny enough) and they work fine. Admittedly, there is a thick wall in between but if a crappy Philips headset works then I expect Live to work as well.

Just want to share my own experience for folks who want to know.
Counterpoint, I think they sound great. They're very comfortable as well due to them not being shoved into my ear canal. ANC drowns out noises like fans/air purifiers, but other than that it isn't very strong. Connection is fine on my S21 ultra. I listen to headphones normally and my rotation consists of Elear, Auteur, HE6, etc. I use these for my dog walks and weight lifting sessions. Are they audiophile quality? Nah, but for the sale price I find them to be excellent.

I think it depends on how you put it in. I sink the tip into ear canal relatively tightly, and when I do that it sounds better than AirPods, including pro. But since there's no silicone tip if I work out with them they slowly slip out a bit and the bass fades a bit. One problem of sinking into ear canal is that it will be uncomfortable after about 2 hours. Curious to try Buds pro next year when the price drops like this. I use iPhone.

Feels like it's taking longer to charge than it took to get the device. Not speaking ill of how fast it charges as much as I'm speaking to how fast the shipping happened. Big Grin

Snagged a pair and I must have received a defective unit. They wouldn't stay paired. Bad Bluetooth range and noise. Tried on Apple and Samsung products. Disappointed had to return them.

I like the buds plus better. It has better battery life and sound seal much better. More importantly, it fits my ear better and doesn't hurt my ear like the buds live.

That's because the trade-in value needs to be $30. But there is nothing worth $30 max is $20. For me this was the reason. Freaky Samsung!
Actually, from what I'm seeing it appears that they have recently re-changed the earbud trade in amount back down to $20 instead of $30.

For the $10 price discrepancy for the Buds live they seem to adjust the Education discount that's actually applied to the buds live.

When the product page shows that it's $45 with the trade in this is the price breakdown listed underneath the $45 price tag:

$45
with eligible trade-inθ
Save $124.99
(Includes $64.99 Education Discount)

Whereas in the cart the new $54.99 price tag has this a savings breakdown:

Trade-In Discount(s)-$20.00
Promotional Discount(s)-$40.00
Education Savings-$55.00

See that they only have a $55 discount for the education savings in the cart instead of the advertised $64.99 education discount from the product page?
Talk about a bait and switch/false advertising, huh?

For those who actually want to only pay out $45 + tax I'd recommend buying it through PayPal checkout and filing a PayPal dispute about the billing amount.
I supplied PayPal with screenshots of the product page where it shows that it's a lower price than what the cart and order ultimately billed me for, and then I wrote out what the corrected subtotal should have been then I applied the tax percentage that Samsung seemed to be charging me (10% for California!?)

PayPal reached out to Samsung a week ago when I first filed the dispute(s), but if Samsung doesn't reply before 10 days have past since I filed then PayPal is likely to side with me and refunding me the difference in the billing amount.

I finally disputed my billing prices with PayPal since Samsung customer service and a supervisor were useless in helping price adjust my orders to the correct amount...the supervisor even agreed that the product page was showing a lower amount but the real price was supposed to be the higher price that I was actually charged...through the conversation with that supervisor I mentioned that it seemed to be a bait and switch, or misleading at best, or false advertising and the supervisor didn't actually dispute what I was saying!?!? O.o

Not trying to be a Karen or anything but this clearly seems to be false advertising from Samsung, and I want to actually buy these things for the correct amount...heck I wouldn't be surprised if Samsung's bait & switch tactics eventually end up in a class action lawsuit! Especially with us SDers who were screwed over by them.

Just got mine last week from s7+ deal. Had galaxy buds, buds plus and live. Buds plus has the longest battery life for sure, sometimes I sit there painting all day like 7 or 8 hours, buds plus had no problem last me that long and still have some juice left. Buds live is comfortable, I'm surprised how good the sound quality is, when you wear it you need to make sure to push it from behind so it kind of sits tighter into the ear and that gives me best sound quality. But batteries on the buds live are so so, little bit better than buds, but about half of buds plus. First day I wore it it lasted from 7am till around noon, I was like are you kidding me? But still, not too bad. Especially for the price. I still prefer buds plus tho, although I don't really like in ear headphones but the battery on the buds plus is just amazing!
You might want to see if your Galaxy Buds app automatically turns on the ANC. Mine will, so I was having shorter battery life with the buds live before I realized about the ANC button turning on.

Also, it looks like the blue Buds live are out of stock but the bronze is still available and on sale!

Honestly this is not for everyone. The experience greatly depend on your earshape. For my asian ears, these are perfect, fit great and super comfy, does not fall out and does not hurt my ears after long period of time like the Bud+.

Although, noise cancellation is nonexisted but It is perfect for me since I am at work, and often needs to listen to surrounding radios & co-workers vs the in ear design of Bud+, makes it hard to hear so I have to constantly take on and off.

For smaller purchases at least they don't ask for any verification to get the Education Discount.

As long as they work it doesn't matter what type of earbuds or headphones they are. I think that they might be donating them.
