Those mentioning range, maybe you have defective units. The Buds+ I got for my wife have excellent range. She'll leave her phone in the kitchen and walk about the house without reception loss. She'll even go into the basement and upstairs. It's an 1,100 sq ft house built in the 50's.

It is certainly smaller than Buds but I don't find it is particularly more comfortable compared to Buds except the fact there are not ear tips for Live. You will certainly be aware of the fact there is nothing on your ear canals. I find the audio quality is borderline average and actually worse than Buds and terrible compared to AirPod Pro. The soundstage seems to be rather "background-ish" meaning the audio sounds farther away. I guess it is the effect of not having ear tips. The ANC is pretty much non-existent compared to AP Pro. The thing that is a deal beaker for me is the Bluetooth range and its connection quality. My original Buds has the same issue whenever I go to the kitchen which is like 10 to 15 feet away, the audio is breaking up badly. The Live is only a bit better on that regard and still not having a good connection it seems. I tested with AP Pro and a 5-years-old Philips headset (which I intended to trade-in funny enough) and they work fine. Admittedly, there is a thick wall in between but if a crappy Philips headset works then I expect Live to work as well.
Just want to share my own experience for folks who want to know.
For the $10 price discrepancy for the Buds live they seem to adjust the Education discount that's actually applied to the buds live.
When the product page shows that it's $45 with the trade in this is the price breakdown listed underneath the $45 price tag:
$45
with eligible trade-inθ
Save $124.99
(Includes $64.99 Education Discount)
Whereas in the cart the new $54.99 price tag has this a savings breakdown:
Trade-In Discount(s)-$20.00
Promotional Discount(s)-$40.00
Education Savings-$55.00
See that they only have a $55 discount for the education savings in the cart instead of the advertised $64.99 education discount from the product page?
Talk about a bait and switch/false advertising, huh?
For those who actually want to only pay out $45 + tax I'd recommend buying it through PayPal checkout and filing a PayPal dispute about the billing amount.
I supplied PayPal with screenshots of the product page where it shows that it's a lower price than what the cart and order ultimately billed me for, and then I wrote out what the corrected subtotal should have been then I applied the tax percentage that Samsung seemed to be charging me (10% for California!?)
PayPal reached out to Samsung a week ago when I first filed the dispute(s), but if Samsung doesn't reply before 10 days have past since I filed then PayPal is likely to side with me and refunding me the difference in the billing amount.
I finally disputed my billing prices with PayPal since Samsung customer service and a supervisor were useless in helping price adjust my orders to the correct amount...the supervisor even agreed that the product page was showing a lower amount but the real price was supposed to be the higher price that I was actually charged...through the conversation with that supervisor I mentioned that it seemed to be a bait and switch, or misleading at best, or false advertising and the supervisor didn't actually dispute what I was saying!?!? O.o
Not trying to be a Karen or anything but this clearly seems to be false advertising from Samsung, and I want to actually buy these things for the correct amount...heck I wouldn't be surprised if Samsung's bait & switch tactics eventually end up in a class action lawsuit! Especially with us SDers who were screwed over by them.
Also, it looks like the blue Buds live are out of stock but the bronze is still available and on sale!

Although, noise cancellation is nonexisted but It is perfect for me since I am at work, and often needs to listen to surrounding radios & co-workers vs the in ear design of Bud+, makes it hard to hear so I have to constantly take on and off.
