Still floored to see these being offered from Costco. I don't think i saw anyone mention that these come with a 12 year warranty from HM.
See attached pic for my configuration ,
Here's the link to HM's price book:

FWIW, I didn't really like it the first week, didn't sit comfortably. I'm 5'10 and got talked out of buying the tall version because the original Eames didn't have a Tall version. Plus the standard cushions are swappable.
My GF loves the chair though and I'm kind of getting used to it.
We just ordered a knock-off Womb Chair (didn't want to spend another few k for a real one), hopefully I'll like that better.
I am not sure you would get the same result with memory foam or gel. The Eames is more springy than memory foam. The next most comfortable chair I've sat in is in my Tesla Model Y which feels a lot like the Eames.

The main bulletpoints on why this is a +$5K chair are:
* Original Midcentury Modern American design icon by de facto designers (Eames)
* Manufactured by licensed partner to original designer's specifications. Knockoffs usually have some slight differences to ease production, but the Eameses were quite deliberate in their design choices, and that typically leads to a worse user experience
* Costly materials and production process
* Made in USA (i think)
