Great price. Bought one from dwr last year. If you are looking for the classic look, you will need to purchase the black MCL leather from dwr. If you're also over 6ft tall, you need the tall version. This is the full grain leather, standard height

It's an iconic chair that is obscenely expensive for what it is. I bought mine lightly used off craigslist for 2250. I recommend shopping around first.

I still feel regret for spending that much lol.

My body feels relaxed just looking at it. Maybe I'll just set this as my desktop background.

I did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that Yadea seemed to have the most positive reviews for replicas. The dimensions are the exact same and a lot of people stated really good things about the quality (even comparing to the real thing). I never did bite the bullet on the replica (just couldn't justify the price without trying), but a lot of people have done group buys on Reddit with Yadea - just do a search and you can see what people said about them. They are pricey for replicas ($1200), but seem to be closest to real thing (for a replica)
Thank you! 1200 sure is a lot for a replica, but I'll take a look.

Anyone have any recommendations on a quality, comfortable replica? Love the style of the Eames but just can't stomach this much for a chair - it's as much as the quote I have to paint my house!

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned an eBay seller that no longer carries them, and there's so many crap versions out there, it seems like just picking one and hoping it's good isn't likely to have good results. Any recommendations?

You will know the difference by sitting in a knockoff and the real thing. I bought mine 5 years ago for $3,000. Because it's like new I can sell it for a profit these days.

So I actually own a "Replica Eames". I'm a person that values quality and was willing to shell out the money for a HM Eames chair. Just for kicks, I bought one for $550 from an eBay seller that offered free returns, just to try it out.

It was Manufactured in China, but shipped from NJ and delivered in 3 days. Setup was not quite as easy as a HM Eames would be, it took me about 90 minutes. But I have to say, I was shocked at the quality. It's damn near the exact same chair. Still buttery soft leather, molded plywood, and the same comfort as the HM model. I kept the replica and use it daily with no issues.

If you shop around and buy a quality replica, you'll forget that the HM logo is missing.
A few of the knock offs are of outstanding quaality

A few of the $550-$900 knock-offs are of outstanding quality and are near identical to the originals. I noted that when recently shopping to replace an Eames/HM model I had before moving across the country. They are nice. They do ride a little low to the ground though and have a permanent semi recline angle. Amazon and E-bay have several different makers for under a grand. Different leather grades and plywood veneers to chose from as well. $4500 is for the logo.

Appreciate the link. Sounds like delivery needs to be in the NY area, and I'm up in the pnw. Also I learned from that thread that these kind of chairs are subject to 25% (!) tariff. So I'm going to wait and see if the tariffs get rolled back.

Well I am sure the build quality and leather quality are much better on the real thing, ergonomically what is the difference? Is the cushioning different, I usually convert to memory foam or gel. Serious question because I'm thinking of getting a knock off and reupholstering it myself.

Guess this is where everyone's stimulus check is going...
If someone is buying this chair, it's virtually guaranteed that they're not eligible for the 3rd stimulus check.
