The smaller Walmart Neighborhood stores count as grocery stores. The large Big Box stores do not.
www.doctorofcredit.com has all the faqs:

1. Cap1 allows only 2 personal cards & 2 business cards (but a few have extra grandfathered in) & co-branded cards do not count

2. Cap1 pulls from ALL 3 bureaus at each time for each application (3 pulls per application & averages them out!)

3. need at least 720-740+ mininum FICO according to data points from last several years (but other factors such as too high balances or too many inquiries in past year can cause rejection).. do not know of this year's mininum
so if you are APPROVED; please list your FICO score that got approved
&
how many new cards you got in the past 2 years because there is rumor that Savor cards have a 5/24 rule similar to Chase (ie; must be under 5 new credit card accounts in past 24 months)
Signed up previously with the $250 offer and was instantly approved. After receiving the card and using it for a week, they restricted my card because they had to verify my income. I had to e-sign an IRS form 4506-T for them to check my 2019 tax Return. After that, it took two weeks for them to verify and remove the restriction. They seem so strict compared to other credit card companies @.@

I assume this cash back deal will apply to Lowes or Home Depot? Got a lot of remodeling to do and IF those count towards the $500 this is better than the Lowes credit card deals!
It counts but Chase Freedom Flex offers similar $200 for $500 and their current rotating schedule gives you 5% for this quarter for home improvement purchases.

Is there any downside to opening an account and then closing it afterwards just for the bonus?

If your credit is excellent and you space it out reasonably then churning credit cards for bonuses is not going to hurt you. Now if you're getting ready to apply for a mortgage or other big loan I'd hold off a little.

Given that each of their cards is targeted towards certain kinds of purchases in terms of bonus awards, e.g. Savor being better for dining purchases and Quicksilver more for store purchases, it almost makes sense to have both, and maybe even a third or fourth one for work, travel, etc.

Thing is, how good are they about approving applications for multiple cards at the same time, for people with good to excellent credit, e.g over 760 or so, and if they tend to approve more than one, do they only offer the $200 bonus on one of them, or all of them for the cards they approve?

Does it make sense to apply in a certain order? And can these cards be combined for a shared credit limit, so effectively you have just one account and use different cards for different types of purchases? Finally, what if you're also applying for another bank's cards, e.g. Chase Flex or Amex, to get their $200 reward? Is there an ideal order to apply for them? I'm sure that they're aware of people trying to game the system for maximal bonus case, and perhaps reject applicants who try this.

As others have surely responded, given that closing a card after getting the bonus may hurt your credit or blacklist you with the card's bank, why not just keep the card and not use it, or use it occasionally and pay it off before the due date? There's no annual fee so it won't cost you anything, and having multiple cards with little to no balance that you pay off on time should help your credit. Is there some specific reason you'd want to close the card?

Took about 2 minutes to apply and get approved. I was able to link the card to my existing Capital One account and get my virtual card number instantly! I have added it to my Amazon and PayPal but haven't made a purchase yet, will update you if it goes through with the virtual number. Thanks OP!

Edit: still waiting for my card, but I was able to make a purchase on Newegg yesterday using the virtual card number!

How do you get virtual cc while waiting for card to arrive? All I got is an option to activate card

A great card. Gives me thousands in cash back. Keep in mind if you spend more than $3,900 a year at restaurants (this often includes bars and breweries too) you should get the Savor card (not Savor One). You'll have the $39 annual fee covered in no time and then collect 4% and not 3%.

Thanks for the info. I did some research online and found this is only available for some selected customer who already owned 1 capital cc before this card.

When i got this card years ago when they first started, it was 4% cash back at entertainment and food. they grandfathered me in to those rate when they went to no annual fees. I use this for all entertainment and food. Love it!

Can you redeem the cash as a direct deposit or check or is it towards statement balance only?
