The smaller Walmart Neighborhood stores count as grocery stores. The large Big Box stores do not.
www.doctorofcredit.com has all the faqs:

1. Cap1 allows only 2 personal cards & 2 business cards (but a few have extra grandfathered in) & co-branded cards do not count

2. Cap1 pulls from ALL 3 bureaus at each time for each application (3 pulls per application & averages them out!)

3. need at least 720-740+ mininum FICO according to data points from last several years (but other factors such as too high balances or too many inquiries in past year can cause rejection).. do not know of this year's mininum
so if you are APPROVED; please list your FICO score that got approved
&
how many new cards you got in the past 2 years because there is rumor that Savor cards have a 5/24 rule similar to Chase (ie; must be under 5 new credit card accounts in past 24 months)
Signed up previously with the $250 offer and was instantly approved. After receiving the card and using it for a week, they restricted my card because they had to verify my income. I had to e-sign an IRS form 4506-T for them to check my 2019 tax Return. After that, it took two weeks for them to verify and remove the restriction. They seem so strict compared to other credit card companies @.@

Minor update. I got my physical card today and when I went into the app to activate it (turns out it had already been activated when I used it to buy something online, which Cap1 allows you to do before you get the actual card), there was this feature that showed me how close I was to reaching $500 in purchases towards the $200 bonus, so even though I was an existing customer and they have this caveat about how existing members "may" not get the $200, looks like I will, assuming I buy $500 or more in the next 3 months. Shouldn't have a problem there as I actually do need to buy some things for my car that I've put off for a few weeks in anticipation of this.
How are you able to use the card online before getting the physical one? I have the app too and have a profile, but i can't see the credit card number. Thank you

Click on the button on the right that says something like "More Details", the actual wording will probably be different, and it brings up a whole bunch of things you can do. One of them is get your full card number, exp date & CCV. You have to validate yourself via a texted code or something, but you can definitely get it before you get the actual card, and use it to buy stuff online, which I did. This also seems to activate the card so you won't need to do that when you get the card.

Btw I just logged into my account. It's "I want to...", and the thing you need to click on is "View Card Number" on the bottom center.

The downside is the hit to your FICO scores. Reducing the average age (or length of time) on your current accounts.. generally can lower your score.

My FICO score decreases by 7 points after I was approved of the new card.

If you're thinking about getting this card you may want to reconsider. My attempt was nothing short of a major headache. First was fraudulent activity....before my card was even approved. This led to providing 3 forms of ID. Ok, I send all 3. Then they wanted a bill, I send .... once again not good enough. After numerous attempts I said to just forget it. They then said this will hurt my credit score. That's ok the can still shove it! Sooo good luck.

If they let you do it as a balance transfer, which I would think they would. Otherwise you'd have to use one of their blank checks but those are usually high interest like a cash advance

As my chance at getting the $250 offer still or no? None of these $200 offers feel good enough to go over 5/24 to me

Took about 2 minutes to apply and get approved. I was able to link the card to my existing Capital One account and get my virtual card number instantly! I have added it to my Amazon and PayPal but haven't made a purchase yet, will update you if it goes through with the virtual number. Thanks OP!

Edit: still waiting for my card, but I was able to make a purchase on Newegg yesterday using the virtual card number!

Capital one is the worst bank/company to get the promotion. I would neve sign up with them again.

No Credit One might take that slice of cake as the worst, or at least one of the worst.
Capital One at least isn't predatory, offering predatory rates with super high annual fees that they take out monthly, and out all at once for the first year, because they don't think you're going to pay it back, and offer no percent off or other incentives without incredibly high annual fees like $195 for a 2% card.

Capital One sucks yes, it sucks to take that 3x hard inquiry any time you want one of their cards, but they're certainly not the worst bank/company.

Out of the 3 credit bureaus which one do they check ?

Transunion more heavily weighted as I think they use their credit scoring.

does Capital One have a limit on how many of their own credit card that you can have?

I already have two other cards from them... just wondering if applying for a third one will be accepted?

also.... does Capital One consider Walmart and Target to be "grocery stores" for the cash back purpose? lately, I buy my groceries from those two places only.(milk, bread, eggs, cereals, vegetables, etc)

They say 4 cards are ok. But 5 or more of their cards they say declined.
