I was about to buy this router, but if you read the reviews the Asus AX11000 had better feature set and was faster for uploading. TP might have fixed the issues, but now but give the review a quick read.

The Asus AX11000 ($450) is nearly twice the price as this TP-link. And at that price, you'd be quite silly to not add in another $40 to get the Asus AXE11000 ($490) instead and be future proof and ready for wifi 6e

Any suggestions on upgrade to this one or wait for another ASUS? I currently have the Netgear R7000 as the main router hooked up to the FIOS, and two more ASUS AC1900 (T-mobile firmware) as the AP around the house. Close to 100 devices including both the devices use the LAN ports and the wifi. Both the two APs and the R7000 have average 30 devices connected directly to each, either wifi or LAN. The problem for me, is that R7000 start showing its age, every a few month it will act up and basically I have to factory reset it. So I'm thinking about get it replaced. Never used a TP-link router before, always a netgear or ASUS. I like the ASUS better compared with netgear, especially on configuration and stability. I don't care about mesh, since my main devices uses the LAN, and I don't think I need a wifi6 either.

I have this router and the 5Ghz's are pretty weak. Çontacted their customer support and they had no clue but the weak signals diagnosis.

It's interested to note that Costco price adjustment doesn't refund you tax, I have experienced twice already, let me know if they refund you both the difference and the tax portion! Smilie

I've run into this before. The difference is that if the discount is a "coupon" or "rebate". A coupon lowers the effective sales price before tax whereas a rebate lowers the sales price AFTER tax. So in the case where the discount is a rebate, costco will not refund tax, which is correct. If you run into this with a coupon, simply provide your rep this info and they will fix it (this worked for me in the past).

Costco also charge you tax before coupon, at least that's what I know of

I'm also curious how this deal compares with the Nighthawk Tri-Band 8-Stream AX6200 WiFi 6 Router.

I'll say it in every thread at this price point, but you're much better off with a WiFi 6E router when shopping at this price point.
Open up your computer and slap in a WiFi 6E wireless card, buy a 6E router, enjoy much faster speeds. I gained 100mbps going from a killer AC card to an Intel AX210 on fiber.

This one will be slightly faster and will have better wall penetration. Not to the level of a mesh network, but still good

Just bought this AX11000. This will pair with the xifinity gigabit. I also have a set of Deco AX5700 on sale at Costco as well. Is it good to run one of the AX5700 as a bridge or AP the get more coverage? Or will it be an overkill? The other AX5700 will be giving to a family to upgrade their AC1900 router.

I had this in my cart, but a few things stopped me, maybe food for thought for others:

- It's only officially sold at Costco now, no other retailers. If you go to TP Link's website for it, Costco is the only place it shows to buy from. That makes me think they are ditching it soon and updates may not be available much longer since it's such a narrowly sold product / user base. I tend to like products that have widespread use or at least VIP/corporate use.
- I'm currently using an Ubiquity AC-LR and Ubiquity AC Pro APs with a pfsense firewall handing the routing, and it's rock solid and has way more features than any of the consumer grade routers.
- The "nice" features on this router, like limiting access to devices the kids use, all depend on Trend Micro services, and while it appears to come with a lifetime license, having to put access to your router (via the Trend Micro account that allows remote control for the app) to a 3rd party like that feels pretty insecure. I'm probably just being paranoid, it's not like I'm someone a hacker would target, but I still feel better knowing that if that database ever gets compromised, I'm not going to be at risk.
- TP-Link does not play well with open source developers, so there's no 3rd party firmware to install on it if the factory one has problems with no fixes. The ASUS AX11000 just got support from RMerlin for the Merlin firmware because they help him out, even going so far as uploading code to his FTP server. This doesn't mean much to most people, but it means a lot to me.
- I've only got a few devices that even support 802.11AX, and they are all mobile devices that have no trouble doing anything over the current AC setup. My NAS and workstations are all plugged in.
- Since Wifi 6E is just around the corner and requires hardware to support it, I'd rather wait a bit longer for that. The "E" opens up a whole new frequency range these devices can use, so it should be pretty uncluttered for a few years while everyone else catches up.

At $280, it's still tempting, but I'm gonna hold off and probably spend a lot more in a few months on something newer Smilie

I've had many (maybe 10?) Asus routers including most recently the RT-AC5300. I'm a big fan of the RMerlin firmware and have used (and donated to) it for a long time. However, I've jumped to this Archer AX1100 this time. The Archer is $175 (plus tax) cheaper, and TBH it works better in my house than the Asus GT-AX11000. I tried them both and got much better speeds at the far end of the house with the Archer. Another thing is that Asus has really annoying antennas; after a few months, they start drooping and just can't stay up (insert joke here). On the Asus side, the Merlin firmware has MUCH more frequent releases with security updates and some nice features (critical ones for some people).

Anyhow, for me at the moment, all I need is a pretty straightfoward wireless router that supports wifi6, has great througput and has a 2.5gbps WAN port. I'll take the $185 and buy something else... :-) (actually I bought this last week for $300, but Costco has a 30 day price adjustment policy).
