We've been telling them for years now that we want a smoke detector that's hardwired with a battery backup & Z-Wave. Apparently it's an impossibility at this point or something.
You can have a Z-Wave smoke detector as long as it's battery powered or you can have a hard wired smoke detector that doesn't have Z-Wave but you couldn't possibly fathom having both in one unit.
And for that reason, I'm out.

Next IMO?
I see people complaining that these aren't hardwired, but I figure I have:
- Hardwired smokes with ionization sensors (great for small particles, flaming fires, fast combustion) - and no reliance on smart tech
- Z-Wave detectors with photoelectric sensors (great for large particles, smoldering fires, slow combustion)
So I'm getting redundancy and extra sensitivity to different types of fires. I can also add that Kidde relay and sensor or the ecolink firefiighter module to get alerts from my hardwired system too.
The CO monitoring is just a bonus, and as a previous poster mentioned CO mixes quickly through the air just like any gas with a similar molecular weight to O2 and N2.
7 of these total for $70.

I want to add CO alarms and add a smoke alarm in garage too. Wish I had picked up these rather than having to run wires but figure if alarm goes off in garage it would be best to have all alarms go off in house which AFAIK these do not do that. And my phone is not going to wake me up so thinking just have to figure out how to add more hardwired alarms.
Getting notifications while not home is something I would like to figure out. I have no z-wave anything.
