Would not recommend this deal for a new installation as it isn't an NVR utilizing ethernet and POE but is a great price if you're upgrading an existing Coax / BNC installation.

We did, but they said don't worry - we have a redundant tower... and both are fully insured...

Any constructive feedback on these?

I've got 16 cameras spread over 3/4 acre i'm not upgrading to cat5 yet I'm looking for a hd over coax setup with a decent app or at least one that isn't just p2p, something i can hit an http or rtsp url with vlc or something on vpn. Nothing that's routing thru china or net that i can just vpn in to. can lorex do that? the 1080p cameras i've been testing have been pretty clear to me. I'm looking also at a few of the more professional units (clinton electronics, etc) hybrids.

I supplement with a few wifi cams at certain points (wyze) as their notifications are pretty consistent then just use the dvr for checking around other things. Then there's the alarm, so i'm not looking to go doing a recable (this year at least).

Instead of asking you a bunch of questions pertaining to camera systems, can you direct me to a source where I can be enlightened ? I'm in the market for a camera system and I would be bullshiting if I said I know what I want. I do own a doorbell ring but want to supplement that with cameras. Im not too sold on having everything ring. Plus, It is important to me to have at least one of the cameras record continously 24/7, and have access to that footage for a specific time period
