I went to Hamer Toyota and they had balls to mark those up 3k plus 1k gps add-on. Came to $56.5k with no negotiation because stimulus money is here and dealers wants it all. Sad state

Hydrogen is not quite ready for prime time. In fact, it still mosty is refined from fossil fuels and production of it generates a lot of greenhouse gas.

Short term, electric is better, even with the finite resources needed to produce the batteries.

I imagine large scale trucks are what's going to keep hydrogen in play. It would take forever to charge up a truck that has to drive cross country and wait hours between fill ups. The great part of hydrogen is fill and go, just like gasoline. People didn't think electric would beat out gas, but look where we are today.

Cali registration are expensive.... about $800 a year for 50K car. Even if it depreciate 80% of it value in 3 years.

Uh. Are you assuming batteries are grown in organic kosher non-gmo cage free farms? Corporations and authoritarian regimes are enslaving people, blowing up mountain sides in Africa and China because they can't mine lithium and other rare earth minerals fast enough. The argument for both EVs and hydrogen is that they're emission-less, not that they're environmentally friendly. Nothing about cars will ever be environmentally friendly.

Nikola is building a hydrogen corridor from Phoenix to LA, which will have filling stations all along the way, so eventually you will be able to take a road trip. Not sure if hydrogen will ever be widely accepted, but I sure hope so since it is the most environmentally friendly and truly renewable.
