I went to Hamer Toyota and they had balls to mark those up 3k plus 1k gps add-on. Came to $56.5k with no negotiation because stimulus money is here and dealers wants it all. Sad state

Hydrogen Fuel cell is exempt from CA rebate income limits.

"The income cap applies for all eligible vehicle types except fuel-cell electric vehicles."

Please correct me if I'm wrong. For me to receive full tax credits, I need to owe that much of tax, correct? 8K Federal and 4.5K CA?

If my taxes are 5K Federal and 3K CA, is that how much I'll be getting?
As discussed between a couple of us, your need to ensure that you owe the federal government $8K at the time of your tax filing.

I maybe saying it wrong again because I am not knowledge in the way of taxes. Consult your tax advisor.

What's the limit of 8k credit? I already claimed at twice. Can I continue to claim at this time?

"Yes, if you purchase the eligible electric vehicle during the tax year you can use the credit for that tax year. If the credit reduces your tax liability to zero any further credit is lost. This is not a once in a lifetime credit.

Nikola is building a hydrogen corridor from Phoenix to LA, which will have filling stations all along the way, so eventually you will be able to take a road trip. Not sure if hydrogen will ever be widely accepted, but I sure hope so since it is the most environmentally friendly and truly renewable.
Nikola? 🤣🤣🤣 Are you for real with that? Cause they aren't.

In the market for a new car. Waiting for a good discount on something that I'm going to enjoy driving rather than some tiny eco car. I get some people are into these things, but it would seem like driving around in a tuna can with wheels.

Last week got hit by a school bus. Smilie Yep, a frickin school bus. They were getting ready to do a practice route before school started back up, and the bus tried to go around me two lanes over and get into the turning lane. He ended up pushing me forward with the side of the bus, so now I have school bus yellow paint all over my bumper. Smilie
It's no tiny eco car. It's actually super handsome. Maybe the best looking sedan Toyota makes. The previous generation was the ugliest.

It's only March, and Toyota has about 102 Mirai's within 500 miles of SoCal, 72 of them are limited which are over $67K and 32 are XLE trim which are ~$52K. I think even with all the Fed and CA tax credits, Mirai will fly out dealers if the TFS incentive is 50% of MSRP. Maybe by July 4th? Wishful thinking...especially with some cars are flying out of dealerships because of the stimulus and people's fear of missing out or news on Toyota stopping some U.S. productions due to parts availabilities.

Some here may remember the all-electric RAV4's (2013-14) were going for about 50% off the last year they were sold...Toyota can do it!!

In case you're wondering how far the $15,000 fuel credit will get you in the real world, it's about 37,500 miles based on Motor Trend's estimates:

From Motor Trend - https://www.motortrend.com/news/2...takeaways/
The Mirai Could Get Really Expensive When And If You Have To Pay For The Fuel.
Hydrogen is expensive: We paid $16.70 per kilogram, and the Mirai's tank holds 5.6 kg. For those of you not mathematically inclined, that's a $93.52 fill-up if your Mirai is running on fumes. (Bad choice of words, perhaps. Since hydrogen is gaseous, one could say the Mirai always runs on fumes.) From three-quarters of a tank, we paid nearly $75 to fill up. This won't be an issue right away, as the Mirai comes with $15,000 or 3 years' worth of free hydrogen. That's enough for 160 complete fills, and even if the Mirai were to only manage 250 miles per tank, would take you to around 37,500 miles. Hydrogen prices are expected to drop to $6-7/kg by 2024 or 2025, but if that doesn't happen, your 2021 Toyota Mirai could start to feel an awful lot like a 1974 Plymouth Fury.

Europe has the most hydrogen fuel stations.

"According to Ludwig-Bölkow-Systemtechnik, 152 hydrogen stations are currently in operation in Europe, 136 in Asia, 78 in North America. Of the 369 hydrogen stations worldwide, 273 are publicly accessible and can be used like any conventional retail stations."

I filed jointly tax return with spouse with over $8k federal tax. Can I just have the car in my name only and still get the full $8k credit?

$15,000/$16=937 kg.

937 kg * 73 miles/kg = 68,000 miles.

Even with my aggressive driving getting 45 miles/kg, it comes out to 42,000.

That assumes hydrogen will stay at $16/kg.

I am learning so can you please quote where the EV/FCEV is a refundable tax credit? When I bought my Volt I made sure to owe the IRS.

All that I've heard and read, including the Car and Driver, specifically states this is a "non-refundable tax credit" unlike most other tax credits.

Would be awesome if I can get this as a refund.
It's non-refundable, but your understanding of 'amount you owe' is incorrect. In tax terms, 'amount you owe' is the total net tax payment for the year calculated in your filing, regardless of what you already paid at the time of filing. As long as your calculated net tax is greater than 8K after all other credits, then 8K will be added to your tax refund.

It's generally not a good idea to have unpaid taxes beyond the end of the year. You'll incur unnecessary penalties and interest.

NGV - natural gas vehicle
PFV - propane fuel vehicle
WSV - water steam vehicle (oh yes we can't have those band them many moons ago)

EV - built better than anything out more care goes into those QA, QC, QI still not a snail at a green
HB - 1/2 gas 1/2 battery cells lot of these out there..

FCV - fuel cell vehicles have been tested on the streets in CT when UTC Power Cells/ Fuel Cells were testing them. This tech as been used in a few NASA missions. So it's not something that would go away fast.

They don't you to get 1000 miles for tank or trips whatever you have there. Gas prices goes up and they talk about releasing FCV west not the east. We could use it here, but just started to build electric pumps for Telsa even Walmart Supercenter has them. .

I wanted EV Plug in Honda Clairity was only $25K in dark green with beige leather seats. I tested drove that EV Plugin HB. Wasn't the best it was huge inside low to the ground I don't want those anymore SUV to MUV.

FCV finally making it.. They did perdict by 2020 to 2030 those would be on the road more.
