Don't recollect the 970 evo plus new at this price (seen the cheaper non-pro 980), but then again I haven't been in the market for a nvme drive.

Looks like it was a non-plus version, however the plus means to charge more money than actual negligible difference in performance.

actual the plus means runs super hot. both of my copies run around 70 to 80 degrees (that's with heat sink in a well ventilated tower). make sure you actually refresh Samsung magician by clicking the drive, otherwise it is just showing 45 degrees or something.
but look at the bright side, none of my drive has dead yet, and i have them when they first become available, think i paid 200 for each.

I paid close to $300 for a 512MB 960 Pro when it came out and it feels slower by the day.

I paid $204 for Samsung 970 evo plus 2TB from its official website. So regret didn't order more.

Same way all electronics are repaired. Desoldering the component that went bad, solder a replacement part in its place. And depending on the component, it may need to be done under a microscope. No biggie.

These are not refurbished other than cleaned. There is nothing that can be done in store. Basically, used without it showing whatever issue that cased it to be returned. (if any)

I think a concern for refurb SSDs would be the # of write cycles used. It seems this version (4) was released late 2020, so not much usage should be expected.

Can anyone validate this?
Tks!

Only 90 days warranty, it's not worth the savings.
