The recent update to Big Sur (past few months) only just cut off the 2013 from compatibility. Generally with every hardware + OS release cycle you'll lose 1 previous generation unless there's a major shift in their schedule due to Apple Silicon developments.

Should be okay for ~4-5 more years based off Apple's history more or less.

You're behind in the hardware curve a bit having Intel instead of m1, but Apple supports their computers much longer than their mobile devices (which makes sense). You're good for at least 5-6 more years based on past history, and even then you have a few options (linux, even possibly Windows) at that stage.

Haahh this scam site is still around. Anyone still getting those magazines? I bought my computer in 2002 from them. All the "retail" parts came in brown refurbished boxes. Never again. Couldnt get the rebates because the barcodes didnt exist.
