Alright folks, as requested I created a video with a step-by-step to replace the front fan and repaste the RTX 3080 GPU. The temps in my machine decreased from 110 degree memory junction down to 76 degrees following these relatively simple mods. Not too bad.

I'm not a youtuber, simply created this video for your benefit to maximize the performance of the unit. Here is a link:
https://youtu.be/YklybEdoKIM
"Dell Aurora R12 RTX 3080 Repaste and Fan optimization - Easy 30 degree temp difference fix!"

Enjoy.
You and everyone else. Everyone coming to slickdeals and posting these 3080 deals from dell don't understand that they will not actually ship.

I've done it twice now. Both times they delayed my shipment every month. My first order took 5 months of delays before they finally cancelled and gave me a crappy 10% coupon that expires in June. Everyone on reddit knows not to bother posting these dell builds because dell doesn't ship. They simply take your payment information, add you to their mailer list, sell your information to other companies, cancel your order and enjoy the profits of their farmed mailer list of people who want the latest technology.

Dell is trash tier right now, hell I'd even trust Newegg over Dell when it comes to 3080 products, and that's embarrassing to say.

https://www.ign.com/articles/dell...-hot-price <- IGN did an article on this already. It was full of $1500 3080 builds and links.

Trust me, these guys aren't shipping. Feel free to reply here with a picture of it actually arriving if you think you can prove me wrong.

I recall seeing on past threads Dell uses propriety parts. Any chance that would mean lesser performance than regular branded parts? Any possible issues with adding own parts?

Nope, same with HP. The OEM builders are using tried and true nvidia reference PCB designs.

These are somewhat sought after since it's standardized and cooling is usually easier in a mining setup.

I'm seeing $3k minus 10 percent off = $2700. Minus $50 = $2650. How are you getting to $2k?

Is $10 a day mining crypto considering the cost of electric? If so, what is kw/h cost you used to calculate this?
The profitability of mining is going to drop by 35-50% in June/July (Can't remember which month) and after that mining the most profitable coin (Ethereum) may no longer be possible in October because there is a proposal to switch away from mining. Profits will still exist on other coins, but will be less.

Its hard to say what mining will look like 6 months from now.

Realistic value after fees/shipping is $1800 for the card and $600 for the PC.

I get that difficulty increases with time and further halvings. I was more curious how the op figured the $10/day statement.

...sell the rest for $800 to $1K on ebay.
Call me pessimistic, but I don't see the barebones tower selling for that much... maybe $500 if you're lucky. This is an F processor after all, meaning no integrated like a K series. Therefore it's useless without a card, even a cheaper one.

There's nothing in that barebones kit that would be remotely worth $800-1,000.

I don't doubt the value and mining capabilities of the card, that's not in question. But reselling the tower is questionable, actually getting them to ship is questionable, and mining difficulty going into summer might put a damper on things. Pre-builds come with a lot of hair on them still.

$10/day includes electricity costs. Go research it.
So assuming everyone pays the exact same rate for electricity right?

Dell keeps killing my direct config links. Slickdeals effect.
To replicate the deal. Go to Dell's site, filter to R12, filter to Intel, get the absolute cheapest option as your base -- it should be $1077. Add the features below - it should total to about $2250. Use the coupon codes I mention below and you should be able to get one. I can find it, but when I post links they go dead almost immediately. That's 4 times Dell killed my links and they went to general pages -- I can't keep up with it, so I'll just direct you where to go instead.
Hi Archaea, thank you for your persistence in updating your post with working links. I apologize that the links were not working correctly, there appears to have been an issue with linking to the pre-configured system. And thank you for also listing out the steps/directions needed to replicate the deal.
