Alright folks, as requested I created a video with a step-by-step to replace the front fan and repaste the RTX 3080 GPU. The temps in my machine decreased from 110 degree memory junction down to 76 degrees following these relatively simple mods. Not too bad.

I'm not a youtuber, simply created this video for your benefit to maximize the performance of the unit. Here is a link:
https://youtu.be/YklybEdoKIM
"Dell Aurora R12 RTX 3080 Repaste and Fan optimization - Easy 30 degree temp difference fix!"

Enjoy.
You and everyone else. Everyone coming to slickdeals and posting these 3080 deals from dell don't understand that they will not actually ship.

I've done it twice now. Both times they delayed my shipment every month. My first order took 5 months of delays before they finally cancelled and gave me a crappy 10% coupon that expires in June. Everyone on reddit knows not to bother posting these dell builds because dell doesn't ship. They simply take your payment information, add you to their mailer list, sell your information to other companies, cancel your order and enjoy the profits of their farmed mailer list of people who want the latest technology.

Dell is trash tier right now, hell I'd even trust Newegg over Dell when it comes to 3080 products, and that's embarrassing to say.

https://www.ign.com/articles/dell...-hot-price <- IGN did an article on this already. It was full of $1500 3080 builds and links.

Trust me, these guys aren't shipping. Feel free to reply here with a picture of it actually arriving if you think you can prove me wrong.

$10/day includes electricity costs. Go research it.
So assuming everyone pays the exact same rate for electricity right?

Enter your kWh electricity rate and it will calculate it.
Usually it runs 1-2$/day. If you're in the north, park that thing somewhere nice and cold. Big Grin

Is $10 a day mining crypto considering the cost of electric? If so, what is kw/h cost you used to calculate this?
You might as well stake your crypto

most of the calcs use a .10KWH figure.

You can look at NiceHash Profitability Calc or Whattomine.com and plug in your exact electricity cost and see the numbers.

I get that difficulty increases with time and further halvings. I was more curious how the op figured the $10/day statement.
Oh yeah I see, you can google the current profitability of different cards. There are a few websites that help calculate its current profitability.

But what's happening now is more than difficulty and halvings. ETH is in the process of moving away from mining entirely, and that's shaking things up

I get $2979 for some reason before discounts. Thats not gong to come down to $2k without with $110 off and a 10% coupon

EDIT, I was adding the 3090 accidently

Is this gong to be a dell 3080 and look generic? Any pics of what 3080 it comes with?

Call me pessimistic, but I don't see the barebones tower selling for that much... maybe $500 if you're lucky. This is an F processor after all, meaning no integrated like a K series. Therefore it's useless without a card, even a cheaper one.

There's nothing in that barebones kit that would be remotely worth $800-1,000.
Barebones Dell G5 with i5-10400F were going for around $400.

I think you can get at least $600 for this. Latest i7 CPU / 1000W PSU / Water Cooling / Latest Alienware
If you were planning to flip the Desktop, might as well get the cheapest option possible, makes no sense to upgrade.

Thank you for this. Just configured a i9-11900k with 3080 (1TB HDD, 8gb RAM) with the 10% (Forbes) code, and some surprise discounts that popped up at checkout. Total came to $2053 pretax.

$1825 on the Dell Members store if you have a Perks at Work situation including the 10% off coupon. Just ordered at 7:40.

AND doubled with the AMEX deal, so $1725. Big Grin
How are you applying the Perks At Work - is there a separate section for Coupons?

I was able to replicate it by searching R12 and selected the cheapest one 1,099.99 then change graphics card to 3080. See screenshot.
